Zeitgest Now And The Spirit Of Weston A. Price
(Chef Jemichel ~ The Chef-Doctor)

Zeitgest Now And The Spirit Of Weston A. Price by chef jem .....

Chef Jem's comment to John Robbins article

Date:   8/17/2011 5:33:27 AM ( 13 y ago)

The spirit of the Weston A. Price Foundation appears to have been questioned by John Robbins. Could that simply be a feeble attempt to discredit the work of the foundation? If so then why should I care? I care for the greater good that the foundation is serving and that, oddly, John makes no mention of!

Here's what I wrote in response to his article:

"My understanding is that the Weston A. Price Foundation does continue in the same spirit of Weston A. Price who's last words were: "You teach, you teach, you teach". I have the greatest gratitude for Sally, her amazing work and for the entire foundation which includes '13,000 members and supports 450 local chapters worldwide'. How about if we hear from all these people regarding the spirit of Weston A. Price? (Look in any issue of Wise Traditions and you will find a rich supply of letters from sincerely grateful souls and plenty of healthy baby pictures as well!) In any case there are now thousands of individuals who are teaching what Dr. Price found among the variety of different peoples that he had learned from and one thing for certain, there was no un-fermented soy in any of those remarkably healthy diets!

I am sorry if the ant-soy message comes across as unkind or offensive in any way! Please forgive the messengers! Thank you! To all our vegetarian and vegan bothers and sisters: I love you! We love you! I do not recommend any restrictive diet that can possible cause undernourishment and especially when it comes to the nourishment that is required for healthy pregnancy, healthy and easy child-bearing of children who are able to have full term births. Dietary choices are essentially personal and therefore people are free to choose what they will. However, there is something called cultural wisdom that goes above and beyond the limits of a personal choice and extends to the health of the next generation! This country has all but lost that cultural wisdom! I thank the company of heaven for the cultural wisdom that has survived here, largely due to the work of Sally and all the foundation (not to mention the Price-Pottenger Foundation and several other organizations). I am sorry if you took anything Sally has said personally. Best refer to "The Four Agreements" in any instances of taking anything personal.

There is a larger vision to not only the foundation but to the whole real foods movement than is realized in your article and that movement is not going away! Your comments aree a weak attempt to single out a single tree when what is really important here is the entire forest and the new growth that is well underway! The forest of a movement is exposing the stories that have been told about what is the right diet. The term: "politically correct" is most appropriate! Foods that were once sacred had become demonized by the PC agents and the consequences have been deadly! Apparently there is still some negative tones projected onto these traditional foods however the roar of an ocean is rising now! You could jump the wave, if you wanted to. Are you really choosing to fight it?"
