This is a photo of popular TV hostess and
Organic Center M.C. Sara Snow at the
March 2011 Natural Product Expo West
launch of Organic Uprising.
Sara is holding some organic alfalfa seed sprouts
growing in a BioSmart Packaging bagasse sugar cane
container. The container helps raise awareness
that through banning sytrofoam misuse we can take
steps to reclaim our beat of nature with the oceans.
We need to eliminate the Great Garbage patches
of the Oceans we we have a chance to once again
making the oceans livable for sea life.
Dead zones, in the gulf come from pesticide use
down the Mississippi, and acidification of the seas
is a major environmental issue.
I see where UCSD as a petition drive going
to Ban Styrofoam on campus as one small step
to get back our beat with nature.

TO THE RESCUE
I was out at UCSD recently for the Food Justice Forum
April 16. I met a number of UC Students, some who
had heard of Enchanted Garden Club ally
Fran Avendano who is now working right out of college
for the University of Maryland, within biking
distance of some of the communities I will want to
reach as the Campaign to Educated Washington on Real Food Safety
takes hold.
Fran was very active in Sustainability actions
at UCSD as an undergrad.
She graduated last year, and since has helped create
the first steps on the new Plant Your Dream Blog site:
