Michael Olson, reports on s.510 by YourEnchantedGardener .....
Leslie.... As you may know, I have been following S510 and related legislation for a long time, and my most recent shows (#697, 698, 699 & 700) were all focused on that legislation. Like many others, I have come to the belief that this "Food Safety" legislation is really designed to make food safe for industrial producers by eliminating local food. The emperor, in other words, wears no clothes! Michael Olson......

Show #698: GODS THAT DAMN FOOD PART II: THE ATTACK -
11-09-2010 (8.67 MB) Listen Now buy cd version
Guests: Brigette Ruthman of Joshua’s Farm in Massachusetts, and Aajonus Vonderplanitz of the Rawsome Food Coop in Los Angeles
Subject: “You never let a serious crisis go to waste.” Rahm Emanuel Two giant farms sold us a half-billion rotten eggs, and so agents of the government, with guns drawn and warrants in hand, are breaking down the doors of the little people who sell fresh, whole foods to their neighbors. But… Why is government attacking little people with no problems instead of big people with lots of problems?
Topics include a look at government enforcement actions against the purveyors of fresh, whole foods; why government is attacking small producers with little or no food safety problems, while ignoring giant producers with huge food safety problems; and what government hopes to accomplish by attacking the little people.
