Drug Companies run FDA?
(Plant Your Dream!)
CERTAIN ADVERSE EVENTS: The Film looking at the FDA is worth watching, in light of the current trend to extend FDA authority over the farm. The issues here need to be explored and understood. We all need to understand Food Safety now before the final senate vote on S 510, starring before long on CSAN, direct from the Capital. New Food Safety laws seemingly protect people from bad peanut butter, but indirectly may hurt small farmers. Bear with me, this blog is a step toward helping you connect the dots. This blog brings up the question: Can we trust the FDA to protect us from drug they approve and can hurt us. Is it appropriate to increase their powers to regulate the farm? The FDA is pro-Big Pharma and big Ag. I do not seem them protecting the family farm or local, organic farming.

ABOUT THIS FILM
Public Citizen, the Washington, D.C. public interest organization, sued the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2008 to force a warning change on dangerous antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. These over-prescribed drugs, including Cipro and Levaquin share reports of debilitating side effects, like Achilles tendon rupture, cartilage tears and surprising mental changes. People harmed by fluoroquinolones speak out in the documentary film CERTAIN ADVERSE EVENTS, which exposes little known facts about the prescription drug industry. Sidney M. Wolfe, M.D., Public Citizen's Health Research Director, and the organization's legal experts, discuss the reason for their successful lawsuit against the FDA. During their weekly radio broadcast, Baltimore pharmacists Brian Sanderoff and Ray Hinish, criticize the FDA for its lack of accountability to the public and general ineffectiveness.
I thought that this film interviewed MICHAEL R TAYLOR
of the FDA, our current Food Czar.
I may be mistaken.
He may be in another great film to watch
called WE BECOME SILENT.

This sets the record straight on the FDA
and starts addressing the ill-effects of drugs.
Now the FDA wants to go on to regulating the farm.
That will come out of the current FOOD SAFETY LAWS
Part one, US BILL HR #2749 passed the house in a few days
last July.
Part two is now heading for the floor of the Sentate,
it is called US BILL 510
Taylor, who is deeply involved in Food Safety issues
and farm issues.
He has a direct route both to the White House
and the international CODEX ALIMENTARIUS COMMISSIION
head. He one of its heads,
are both into RISK ASSESSMENT,
an approach to assess the safety of drugs and foods.
PART ONE
Where the FDA research comes from.
The idea of Pre-emption, no accountability
for pain caused by wrong drugs on the market.
The same idea is in UD BILL HR #2749, the FOOD SAFETY
bill MODERIZATION ACT
