Bill Gates Spending Billions toward GE Seeds in Africa
(Plant Your Dream!)

Bill Gates Spending Billions toward GE Seeds in Africa by YourEnchantedGardener .....

The World's Richest man, BILL GATES is more a BIOTECHNOCRAT THAN A DEMOCRAT. The more farmers the better, goes with the American tenet of AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL. This is the democratic ideal. GATES would rather go with cnetralized food. He is spending billions to promote biotech seeds and concepts in Africa. DOUG-URIAN SHERMAN, senior scientist with the UNIION OF CONCERNED SCIENTISTS, wrote the book fAILURE TO YIELD. This book looks deep into GE SEEDS and food and concludes they do not produce bigger yields.

DOES GENETICALLY ENGINEERED BIOTECHNOCRACY equal
a form of BIOTERRORISM?

BILL GATES, called the richest man in the world
for selling many of us PC's, has not read
FAILURE TO YIELD.

The book, FAILURE TO YIELD is written by
DOUG-GURIAN-SHERMAN, senior scientist

studies decades of GE Use and concludes
it does not increase yields

The ever popular Gates who is betting with
humanities future, was featured on the JON STEWART
THE DAILY SHOW January 25, 2010. He kinda glides over
his activities with the BILL and MELINDA GATES
FOUNDATION, a major sponsor of BIOTECNOLOGY
and the idea that we can feed starving Africa by
further fragmenting the connection of small farmers
to time tested agricultural approaches that have worked for
1000's of years. Gates, and others, prefer
to substitute biotech methods of farming
that are already showing hazardous results
where they have been applied in India.

"Learning about better seeds...
is one of my jobs now." he said to Jon Stewart.
For the poor he wants to get
better vacinnes out there. he says.

KEEP THE BEET MEDIA STAR,
THE World's First Talking Beet Plant,
and the US Czarina of Foods, would like
former computer wiz to reinvest in Mother Earth.
Says the noted beet, "The problem is that we have
lost the beet--our connection--with things that grow
naturally." Nature's Original Technology includes
reinvesting in earth based homeland security.
That means more and more people everywhere
growing their own food once again, and knowing
personally the farmers growing the rest of their food.
GE Seeds yields hurt the quality of our food supply.
It often hurts small farmers, she continued.

GATES BLAMES HUNGER IN AFRICA
ON ANTI-GMO ENVIRONMENTALISTS
UPDATE 1-Bill Gates says ideology threatens hunger fix

"Some people insist on an ideal vision of the environment,"
Gates said. "They have tried to restrict the spread of biotechnology
into sub-Saharan Africa without regard to how much hunger and poverty might be reduced by it, or what the farmers themselves might want."

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in recent years has turned its focus to helping poor, small-holder farmers grow and sell more crops as a way to reduce hunger and poverty."

Biotech firms have attempted to present GM farming as a solution to Third World poverty. But Charles said there is evidence of the harm it can cause, highlighting the 'truly appalling and tragic rate of small farmer suicides in India, stemming in part from the failure of many GM crop varieties'.
The biotech industry claims the growth of GM cotton in India has led to higher yields. But there are said to have been hundreds of suicides among farmers deep in debt after buying the seeds and fertilisers sold by GM companies.

Another UN study summarized 114 organic and low-input agriculture projects underway for several years across Africa, which showed average yield increases of 116 percent, along with increased income and other benefits. A recent peer-reviewed summary of world-wide organic production found that organic and near-organic methods in developing countries increased yields more than industrial production methods.

He is the author of numerous papers and reports, including No Sure Fix: Prospects for Reducing Nitrogen Fertilizer Pollution through Genetic Engineering, Failure to Yield: Evaluating the Performance of Genetically Engineered Crops, and CAFOs Uncovered: The Untold Costs of Confined Animal Feeding Operations.

From 2004 to 2006, Dr. Gurian-Sherman was senior scientist at the Center for Food Safety in Washington, DC. Previously, he was founding co-director and science director for the biotechnology project at the Center for Science in the Public Interest. He also worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) where he was responsible for assessing human health and environmental risks from transgenic plants and microorganisms and developing biotechnology policy.
