I have been a member pretty much since the very start of the foundation. Meeting Sally and visiting with her in the Autumn of 1999 was an absolute gift from the U-n-I-verse unlike I had ever known! In January that year I had left my home in Northern California in search of greater community. I had traveled by station wagon back to San Diego where I had lived several years earlier to reconnect with community developments there. I saw my first copy of Nourishing Traditions in San Diego. By Spring, I believe the U-n-I-verse sent me an "angel" from Bloomington, Indiana whom inspired me to travel cross country in that station wagon to visit. I then got introduced to Spiritual Foods for The New Millennium and offered some support which resulted in an invitation to their center and hospitality at the Fallon's home! I think you would agree that was a real gift (beyond my imagination)! I had no idea where I was truly headed. I wound up crossing a major threshold that resulted in my founding a local chapter and having a new experience of community that included much of my long standing interests the nature of which WAPF members are familiar with!
Now it is a little over ten years later and what I have witnessed (with my own eyes at the Foundation's "birth place" and at the original founding board members first Sunday brunch that I was most honored to prepare) has established itself as a living movement that has spread not only across this country but around the world! This is really phenomenal! Weston A. Price Foundation is a force for Good, namely Good Food and as we all know more, much more!
I thank the U-n-I-Verse
for the gift
that has been so freely given
to me
and that is so wonderfully embedded
with a spirit of Pass it Forward!
This gift can heal!
This gift can bring peace to so many minds that are confused about what I believe is a most basic necessity starting with the formation of our own bodies!
Therefore this gift can enlighten! That is most attractive to me! "Restoring nutrient-dense traditional foods to the human diet through education" is a IMO a journey to nutritional enlightenment. Or if you prefer you can call it a journey to nutritional awareness! Hey, I rather like the way that later phrase sounds! I can add to that "awareness through education". What a mission this is/can be! More than ever before I ask to be shown where I can put my attention within this "mission" that will support the kind of awareness that will heal, bring peace and even enlightenment to who and what we are, life and to one another. I say this in absolute gratitude for all that has been given to me over the past ten years (since even before I had actually met Sally) and I say this in gratitude for all that will come in the future!
Thank You all you "angels", all you spiritual food devotees, all you mighty "Eight of Clubs", and all others playing a part in this tremendous service to humankind that is calling us all back to the truth of ourselves and all out relations with the earth simply through our free will to choose truly nourishing foods!
