congregating will help spread the flu virus

Standing in Line for Swine; Getting the Flu Vaccine

    When people are told that "there is only a 25% chance of dying in a car rollover", they feel good about their chances. When people are told that "there is a 25% chance of getting this Swine Flu", they will hurry to get the vaccine. I think that being one of the 75% who will have no sign of sickness this winter is a good prospect; or, if I only get a flu once every four years, thats not so bad [and maybe better than getting 4 vaccinations and three of the are not needed].

    That is only one of the oddities I am seeing in this climate of media-driven fear of the Swine Flu [H1N1].

    The most irrational thing to do today would be what the TV is showing people doing every day now - lining up with a group of people who are the most susceptable to getting the flu*[1], just to get the vaccine for it. Any one of those other people in line could have the H1N1 allready, and  they are exposing everyone else in line to it; there are babies and toddlers and elderly people with declining mental functioning and none of them would know enough to stay away from crowded areas where they might infect others.

  Congregating in large crowds will help spread any flu virus. We know that now, so why promote that behaviour?

Promoting the Vaccine
   The major media, who is talking "Swine Flu" all day every day now, makes no mention of the danger of congregating in large crowds, where the flu virus could easily transfer from one infected person to many others there. Pubic Health officials are telling us to sneeze into our elbows, to wash our hands and to wipe our noses, but they don't want to say anything that might keep people from lining up for the vaccine even if it means increasing the chances of spreading the flu [such as congregating in large groups].

   Public Health officials could suggest that people who are in the high risk groups wait until they know that a shot is available for them and then they should just go to their regular doctor to get it. Instead, there is this big panic to get the vaccines distributed a few days earlier with these "ad hoc vaccination sites" in malls and so on [many people won't get a vaccination until December anyhow].

Most Vaccinated Generation
  One other thing I would like to propose is that these tragic deaths of teenagers from H1N1 might be occuring simply because that generation is the generation that has recieved more vaccinations than any previous generation. This follows the idea that "those who get the most vaccinations are the most likely to get the flu when it comes around".

-------------Etc. -
*[1]
    Why do I say that those lining up are "the most susceptable to getting the flu"? - because it has been shown that the people who get annual seasonal flu vaccines are in fact more likely to get flus and colds as compared to people who do not get annual vaccinations. The reasoning could follow a few different paths to the same conclusion:
- people who get vaccines might be getting vaccines because they have little defense against viruses for whatever reason, and allways get whatever is going around;
- the vaccine itself is causing a weakened immune system because the vaccine uses a weakened or killed virus and that does not cause our immune systems to mount a full response to viruses, which results in a generally weaker immunity to viruses in those people;
- the vaccine's "other ingredients" [for extended shelf life, or to produce it quicker] such as mercury and squalene and aluminum are harming people and making them more susceptable to illness in general.
