Canadian Film on Raw Dairy Controversy
Wins Top Honors at Environmental Film Festival
Farmer and Filmmaker to Screen Film in the US

SAN FRANCISCO-- October 31, 2008--Members of the media are invited to
a special screening of an award winning documentary on the raw milk
controversy, "Michael Schmidt: Organic Hero or Bioterrorist." The
film details a Canadian raw dairy farmers battle with government
regulators and the milk marketing boards whose monopoly controls the
Canadian milk market.

Part of the film was shot in California, where the raw dairy industry
has had a series of hard knocks, and is fighting for a level playing
field with the conventional dairy industry.

Last week, the film debuted at the Planet In Focus environmental film
festival held in Toronto, Canada. This past Sunday, festival judges
declared the 45-minute documentary the Best Canadian Film (long form).
Two nights later it had its first airing over the Canadian
Broadcasting System to millions of viewers on a program called "The
Lens" on CBC's Newsworld channel. The filmmaker, Norman Lofts, is
astonished at winning top honors. Lofts effused, "Incredible and it
is still sinking in. It was totally unexpected. I hope this helps to
get Michael's story told across Canada."

On Friday, November 7, 2008, Norm Lofts and the Canadian farmer,
Michael Schmidt, who is the subject of the film will screen the movie
and discuss it with the attendees of the Wise Traditions 2008
conference, an international nutrition education conference sponsored
by the Weston A. Price Foundation. This annual conference draws over
1200 farmers, consumers and health care experts from around the globe.
The time of the film premiere is 8:00pm-10:00pm. The location of the
screening is the San Francisco airport Hyatt Regency, 1333 Bayshore
Highway, in Burlingame, California.
