Trip Down Memory Lane
(Plant Your Dream!)

Trip Down Memory Lane by YourEnchantedGardener .....

Effortless Arrival into Bio 2008. I showed my Blog, to the Media person in charge after my name was not located in the computer. I am very interested in the Ag developments. This is a Massive Global Industry.

The Press Room here at the International Bio Conference is
immense.

I am glad to be here.

Had Life Not Plucked me up by the scruff of the neck
in 1972 and put me where I needed to be rather than where
I might have gone left to my own devices, I would have been
here long before now.

Right out of college, I was already having intense
signs of arthritis. I was led to Nature, and my lifelong
Spiritual Mentor and Father Dr. Bernard Jensen.

Dr. Jensen was part of the Health Sanitarium Tradition
in America. He always lived in Natural places.

He came to Escondido, California around 1952.
Dr. Jensen studied with many M.D.'s of his time,
who like John Harvey Kellogg, the originators of the
the Corn Flake, were proponents of Natural Living.

Dr. Bernard Jensen (1908-2001) saw more than 350,000 patients
in his day. I was one of them. At his Centennial Celebration
held June 6,7,8, 08 at the Town and Country Convention Center,
there were folks in Natural Health Care from around the world.
Countries represented included Australia, Russia, Sweden, Norway,
Peru, Italy, and many, many more.

Dr. Bernard Jensen spent his life revealing the Secrets of Long LIfe.
He traveled the world over many times spending time with the Old Men.

HIS QUEST FOR HEALTH & HAPPINESS

I highly recommend this DVD to my New Friends at
Bio International Convention,
The Global Event for BioTechnology
June 17-June 20, 2008
at the San Diego Convention Center.

Last night was an Eye Opener for me.
I spent time in a Press Interview with
Keynote Speaker Margaret Spellings,
U.S. Secretary of Education.

Our Secretary of Education is a remarkable woman.
She has been a leader in reform. She is contributing
toward making education
more innovative and responsive.

Prior to her tenure as Education Secretary, Spellings
served as Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy
where she helped crate the No Child Left Behind Act.

She is the first mother of school-aged children to serve
as Education Secretary. She clearly has a special appreciation
for the hopes and concerns of American Families.

I heard Spellings at the BioTechnology Institutes
Biotechnology Education Banquet Program.

The room was filled with some of our nation's
most innovative Science teachers, and some of their
students who were up for the Genzyme-Invitorogen Biotech
Educator Award.

Part of the evening I sat near Mark Casey, a third-year
teacher who has been enjoying the 2008 Conference on
Biotechnology Education that has been running here in
San Diego for a number of days. Many of the teachers
in the room are committed to Biotechnology and
are very sincere that through this humanity can be uplifted.

San Diego's Jay Vavro, Ph.D. a very popular
teacher at High Tech High was singled out
for the award. His own student Zac Sheffer
and Vavro will soon be leaving for Africa where
they will do some field studies. Scheffer
project has to do with DNA Bar Coding.

The room last night was highly charged with
very positive energy.

James C. Greenwood, President & Ceo of Bio
Biotechnology Industry Organization
is dedicated to the high aspirations
for transforming our world for the better.

The Conference themes are Heal,
Fuel, Feed the World.

I share those Values.

Greenwood shared the podium with
Pete Leddy Ph.D of Invitrogen.
Invitrogen is backing many of the student
projects. I will report on these on
this Plant Your Dream Blog.

Invitrogen is a local San Diego Company.

Downtown San Diego has really put out a
welcome mat. There are banners hanging throughout
the Gaslamp downtown area.

One of the highlights was spending time at the
reception with Andrew Fleshner, Director of Business Development
for Saint Joseph's Translational Research Institute.

Andrew was accompanied by Mia Johnson,
Manager of education and Training at Saint Joseph's.

Altanta, Georgia is gearing up to host the 2008
Bio International event, and Mia and Andrew will play a role.
I gave him a copy of my well known Peter Sunflower Image.
He was enthusiastic about having a copy at Saint Joseph's
in Georgia.

I have my questions about whether Organic agriculture,
clearly a San Diego industry that can feed many more people in
our Bio-Region, can exist side by side with Genetically Modified
Organisms (GMO)'s.

I suggested this as a research question for Jay Vavro,
the outstanding science teacher at High Tech High.

Jay's students have written three books, some that
deal with environmental issues in San Diego.

I will report and review these books here on
the Plant Your Dream Blog.

Trip down memory Lane?

I have spent some time this Spring at the
Natural Product Expo West in Anaheim, CA,
as well as the Los Angeles Convention Center
for the Book Publisher's Expo.

My own book, The ULTIMATE PLANT LOVER
is in the works with Health Communications Inc (HCI).
HCi published the CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL SERIES
that has sold more than 100 million copies.

The San Diego Convention Center is a great choice
for Bio 2008!

In the first year of this Convention Center, I did a closing ceremony out in the
Ampitheatre area overlooking the Bay. We had a
Whole Life Expo here at the San Diego Convention Center.

I will looking forward to relating that story.
It was an adventure I will never forget.

Lots to do right now.
I want to upload my photos
and get them on a Mac Web Gallery.

Clearly, I met
Beautiful people last night.
The Beautiful People of Bio.
