It's Really Huge!
Just got off the phone with Carolyn Chase!
Carolyn coordinates the Earth Fair, the largest
Earth Day event in the Country.
Take a look at this wonderful Utube:

Last year, Joe the Farmer, with the support of Whole Foods Market,
put on a display to raise awareness about local organic farming.
This year we launch our national program
KEEP THE "BEET." THE "BEET GOES ON!"
Carolyn O.K.ed Enchanted Garden to do a Drum
Circle at the Conscious Alliance Bus, that will
be in Balboa Park April 20.
The Conscious Goods Alliance Tour Bus will also
be at Whole Foods Market Hillcrest April 21.
Enchanted Garden is O.K.ed to have a table there too.
The next Organic Step is to hook
KEEP THE "BEET" up for the Earth Fair with
our friends on the Conscious Goods Alliance Bus.

Here's the Idea behind KEEP THE "BEET."
Public Awareness needs to be raise about the
importance of growing our own food and support
the local organic farmers growing the rest of our food!
The current usage for organic food in our country is 3%.
Working together, we can get up to 10% by 2010.
The Enchanted Garden wants to grow back into
100% by 2025.
There are a few mountains to climb to get beyond
3%.
One local problem is a 30% cutback in water to our local
farmers. Joe the Farmer, is a national symbol for
the local organic farmer who will never give up against all
odds to keep growing lovely foods.
Last year at this time, he was riding a wave.
His locally grown organic strawberries received standing
ovations at the Organic Center Fundraiser at the Natural
Product Expo West. His lettuces and greens were happily
on the shelves in Whole Foods Market Hillcrest.
This year, frost conditions took their toll on the berries.
Now, 15 of his 40 acres are being left fallow.
In a year when every Unit Counts, more than 150 families
and friends of the farm have rushed in to support Joe
through the new J.R. Organic CSA. Orchestrated by
JoanE, Joe has can count on more of the food he is growing
getting into tummies, rather than going home to the compost
heap.
Enchanted Gardener Leslie is back on board for Spring as well.
The current plan is to create a Consumer Ed Program
called KEEP THE "BEET!" THE "BEET" GOES ON!
All Spring Events, culminating with the Dr. Bernard Jensen
Centennial Celebration June 6,7,8, 08, will have public appearances
made by Leslie's very own beet.
What does it take to become a gardener?
Your Enchanted Gardener says, "One Person+One Pot
that all I am asking to have card carrying prerequisites
to join The Enchanted Garden Club.
"As the Beet grows, so I grow," says Leslie, Your Enchanted Gardener.
KEEP THE "BEET." THE "BEET" GOES ON
is called Enchanted Gardening 101.
GROWING YOUR DREAM JOB is Enchanted Gardener 102,
but that's another story.
