Welcome Letter....

Welcome To The Farm

Thank you all new members for your support. Welcome to our Farm Family.

The benefits of belonging to a CSA are wonderful. As a share holder in our Community Supported Agriculture Program you are directly linked to the land and the food it produces for you. You get fresh, locally grown, organic produce delivered directly to your neighborhood. You protect your family and the environment from harmful and destructive chemicals. You will be supporting a small, family run farm and contributing to your local economy. There is also the opportunity to see how your food is grown and the chance to build community with farmers and other shareholders.

Though there are many rewards, there are also some challenges. Being a member may mean reorienting your household’s food habits and routines. Shares you receive from a CSA arrangement are limited to what’s in season. Therefore, you will need to learn to eat in season with new varieties of produce.

It may also be important to learn different cooking, storing and preserving techniques. You need to be prepared to deal with the food once received before it spoils. This is often a new challenge for many members.

We’re here to help you meet these challenges and have fun doing it. Our newsletter will offer lots of information with great tips and recipes for you to enjoy. You can also call our customer service lines for assistance. If you are very ambitious and would like to try your hand at preserving and storing some of your produce, try out these websites.

All of us at J.R. Organics welcome you and wish you a wonderful food adventure.

Hi Leslie,
I'm wondering if you could format this welcome letter to send as email or paper copy.
Maybe a few Rodriquez family pics would look good. Let me know if I'm giving you too much to do. I don't want to overwhelm you. However, we do need all these forms pretty quickly, so if you feel we should do it ourselves just let me know. I understand you may be busy and have other projects of your own. Whatever you can do will be greatly appreciated and we want you to be involved with this project.

Incentive letter JoanE
asked me to format.

I do not have Microsoft word on this
new Imac, just a test drive. The program
sells for a number of hundred dollars.

Flyer titled "Host Incentive Program"

On top of page I would put J.R. Organics...etc. as on brochure (attached)

Text:

J.R. Organics appreciates your support in hosting a CSA group and therefore has created an incentive plan outlined below.

All North County San Diego Groups Using Grangetto’s Pick-up Locations:
The Host signs up at least 15 weekly members to be eligible to participate in the program. As more members are added to the 'group', the compensation changes accordingly (see below).

Outside North County San Diego:
Host provides a pick-up location where group members can get their food boxes in a timely manner.
The Host will handle the scheduling of all pick-ups.
The Host will receive from each member their empty boxes from the previous week and keep stored until next pick-up date when the Host will return them to the delivery driver.
We will provide a checklist where the Host can record who has or has not returned their empty boxes.
The Host will relay any group communications to the farm representative.

# of Weekly Members Per Quarter* Compensation Total Compensation Value
15
One weekly box of produce $420.00

40-50 One weekly box of produce + $300.00 check pd. quarterly* $720.00
51-60 One weekly box of produce + $420 check pd. quarterly* $840.00
71+ One weekly box of produce + $540.00 check pd. quarterly* $960.00

*Yearly quarter is 12 weeks.

No idea how
to do this....

Leslie, could you format a Contact List sheet?

Something very simple but again ties in with the brochure and other flyers to get a signature look.

Use same heading on top as flyers and brochure.

Title: Contact List

Then three columns:
1. Name 2. Telephone 3. Email

Leslie, I think a table format with boxes is the best and easiest to use.
I would say about 12-14 rows with enough room for people to write all the information

Flyer titled ‘FREE ORGANIC PRODUCE

Text:

How To Get Your Free Produce…
It’s Easy…It’s Fun! First, sign up 15 people to the weekly program. Second, provide a convenient pick-up location if there are none yet in your area. Your weekly, box of organic produce is then delivered to you FREE! *

Leslie, somewhere on the Flyer I put the word ‘FREE’ in a circle to stand out.
The following was also floating in separate text boxes:

Free Box of Fresh, Locally Grown, Certified Organic Produce Delivered Every Week to a Location Near You

And:
CSA Program Available in San Diego and Orange Counties

And:
CCOF Certified Since 1986
