Pacifists Are Terrorists, Says Homeland Security
Through a Freedom of Informaton Act request, the ACLU has discovered that the FBI has been sending spies to snoop on the activities of an organization in Pittsburgh, for no other reason than the political views of that organization. The ACLU has obtained files in which FBI agents report their espionage on the legal activities of the Thomas Merton Center.

The FBI agents justified their spying against law-abiding Americans by saying that the Thomas Merton Center was a pacifist organization that might have links to terrorism.
A pacifist organization with links to terrorism? Pacifism is the dedication to nonviolence. Terrorism is the use of violence to achieve political goals. How could a pacifist organization be involved in terrorism?
Ah, but I’m forgetting. This is Homeland Security we’re talking about. Under Homeland Security, we don’t have to make sense, so long as we’re afraid.
Under Homeland Security, any organization working for peace against war is something to be positively terrified about. So, you see, to the FBI and the rest of America’s Homeland Security apparatus, pacifists are the worst terrorists of all.
