Rep on the High seas  This is how it is done!!

Most of my time in the fleet was spent on steaming destroyers, "so have been there done that" or "Any place Any time,"  was our motto....

Click on the photo and it will blow up.... What you see is underway refueling....  The ship between the Carrier and the other destroyer is a Fleet tanker... It could be an Ammo ship or Other supplies as needed....  If  you look hard, you can see the rep lines and hoses....

The Guided Missile Destroyer  directly behind the carrier is standing "Plane Guard" that is when there is a CAP {Combat Air Patrol} launching aircraft -  operation.... Which means the planes fly, and someone is standing by to pickup downed pilots...   The ship on plane guard station is approx 1000 Yds astern of the carrier...

This is a good display of fleet operations underway...  Normal day to day....  This is nice weather and a calm sea...  This is done every few days...   So we were busy...

Life on the high seas can be either stressful, or very calm and pleseant... I have seen both!!   Most of the time it was very nice, calm and enjoyable....   There were storms, hurricanes, and some upevil...  But most often it was pleasant and a really enjoyable experience...   Got to see much of the world, and do things some only dream or read about...

We will visit some more on both sides of life at sea, in future blogs...  So stay tuned and feel the salt spray and sun on your face...  This is what life is all about, friend...

   see ya... K
