"Agribusiness" Failed
It's time to remove ourselves from the dangerous
mine field of Commercial Agribusiness that
hurts the limbs of children and their parents.
Here is "A Love Letter to Joe the Farmer."
Feel Free to circulate this. It's time
for each of us to be a Friend of the Farm
so Joe the Farmer can once again
say, "Happiness is Organic!"
Date: 3/29/2006 10:28:48 AM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 1555 times It's time to gently and carefully
take some steps back from the farming
practices that have taken root over the last 100 years.
The original intent of Agriculture is to uplift
and connect culture. Food is the foundation of
Cultural Integrity and healthy family life.
Agribusiness that does not foster Culture
is reached the point where intelligence consumers
are now asked to slowly and gracefully back off.
Commercial agribusiness is the equivalent of
a Mine Field in a War Zone.
.it hurts and maims the limbs of
unsuspecting children and their parents.
I send "A Love Letter to Joe the Farmer" your way.

one of our latest Enchanted Garden Members,
the Chief Scientist from the Organic Center.
The Enchanted Garden is now aligned with
the Organic Center to go from 2% market share
for organic foods to 10% by 2010.
Our Members are asking for more than 10%.
The bottomline is that we are asked now to
make sure that every Joe the Farmer can say
"Happiness is Organic!" because we are each
a Friend of the Farm.
I welcome opportunities in the coming year
to share my children's story "Joe the Farmer,"
who never, ever, gave up and was saved thanks
to you.

INTRO:
A LOVE LETTER TO JOE THE FARMER
Here is a Love Letter to Joe the Farmer.
Joe is a character based on the life of Joe
Rodriguez Jr, a fourth generation farming family that
is doing its best to continue farming because of support at
the Farmers' market.
Some of us wonder about homeland security.
Once there was a defender of the USA
called G.I. Joe. He was famous. Joe the Farmer is in my book
is the defender of our true homeland security.
i hope you enjoy this letter.
If you would like to write a personal thank you
to Joe the Farmer, write him c/o my email
and i will forward your appreciation,
or better yet visit him at the Hillcrest Farmers' Market
San Diego, California, 9-1, Sundays. Bring your
camera and notepad for a good story of the hardship
facing our local family farmers.
Much love from your enchanted gardener,
Leslie

A LOVE LETTER TO JOE THE FARMER
I’m a Friend of the Farm so you and your family
can say, “Happiness is Organic!”
Dear Joe the Farmer,
I thank you now for all the times I never thanked a farmer.
I’m eating organic food and thinking of you
with a renewed appreciation! Thanks for growing food for me.
I accept my responsibility. more now, toward sustaining healthy agriculture.
Please accept my gratitude for the caring positive spirit you,
your family, and workers give each day to the earth
in my behalf. You labor through the hot sun,
the rain, the difficulties of natural calamity
and man-made insensitivity to do what it takes to grow food
in harmony with building fertile soil. Because of you,
I have food to grow into all I can be,
and build a body and mind to give my seed dreams expression.
Breathe easier in knowing I understand, and that
I am with you. I join you in growing the Enchanted Garden,
a name for our renewed earth,
that can only be grown one plant at a time,
one person at a time, one step at a time, organically!
I bless that you as a salad grower have
as many salad eaters to satisfy your every need.
What you do daily is for the good health of generations to come.
I will tell others. I will more reverently say,
“I am a friend of the farm” so you, your parents,
and offspring can say, “Happiness is Organic!” Rest
in loving arms each eve. I will support consumer education
through consuming with awareness wherever I am.
Thanks for keeping my doctor bills at a minimum;
I can live with it if my main doctor turns out to be
my farmer and Mother Earth my insurance agent!
You are a national treasure! “Lettuce” grow together!

Quotes from Leslie Goldman
Your Enchanted Gardener:
“Not knowing who’s knrowing your food
is like being intimate with a stranger.
"Grow some of your own food,
and be on a first name basis with the
farmers growing the rest of your food."

There are two films right now
that underscore the importance of we can each do.
The first film is called "Store Wars,"
The Second "The Future of Food."
"Store Wars" is a hilarious online
five minute short, featuring Star Wars
type characters. It is sponsored by
the Organic Trade Association.
You can see "Store Wars" here:
http://www.storewars.org/flash/index.html
The second film "The Future of Food"
addresses the loss 70% of our foods in
supermarkets to GMO's and the global
problems from GMO's worldwide.
This is a film that is as strong medicine
as Fahrenheit 911.
You can see the Trailer here:
http://www.thefutureoffood.com/trailer.htm
"Store Wars" speaks to "The Dark Side of the Farm,"
the proliferation of dangerous gene thinking
that is now captivating and capturing the future of food.
But then, there is the "Organic Rebellion."
and beyond this is "Organic celebration!"
our Enchanted Garden Campaign.
