Life is?? #264 focus on school safety
** The father of one of the #Parkland school shooting victims says survivors should focus on school safety, not gun control. **

It is like the placing of safety belts and airbags into cars or applied safety - rather than restricting who actually can drive a car own a car and then start attacks the Auto manufacturers for selling cars to begin with to prevent future injury and deaths...
*** I seek the truth, not the emotional response.
Emotions are like pain in the body - it is only meant to call attention to a certain problem, not to be used to derive more sympathy or to rewire your body. It calls for taking a proper action toward correcting the specific problem(s). Not some quirky - slap stick ill thought reaction!
Not exacerbating the problem!

When are they going to just realize that they have been played?
- The BIG fact that almost all the anti-gun bunch overlook and have not read or realized is - that the most of the large number of gun deaths in the 15 to 25 years old (which is the largest set) have been found to be mainly intercity gang-related shootings.
These are basically 15 to 25 year (mainly male) old's shooting each other!
So the thing these high school students should do is work on the mega Drug culture and high school dropouts who seem to be doing much of the shootings.

Do not believe me, I just read and publish the truth. Go check the Firearm deaths of the CDC(&P) data for that age group the recent past years...

** South Florida NPR station.
Embrace Nuance.
Avoid Common Misconceptions.
Conversations about gun violence tend to be deeply limiting, said Green, who covers social justice issues for the South Florida NPR station.
“The media tends to reinforce a Republican/Democrat divide among gun owners and gun control advocates,” she said.
“This type of reporting contributes to misconceptions about what it means to be a gun owner” and excludes people like black gun owners and rural gun control advocates from the conversation.
{Which is where the not so knowledgeable students are}
“It’s is not just a crime story,” said Green, who encouraged journalists from a range of beats to consider how gun violence affects their communities in different ways.
There are plenty of health stories and education stories related to guns that aren’t being told, for example.
{Many stories showing the use of firearms to prevent or stop crimes do not make the evening News!}
When reporting on the National Rifle Association, Yablon noted that mainstream media outlets tend to overstate the influence the gun industry has on the organization.
“While the NRA’s money is an important source of power,” he said, “its true power comes from the fact that it is a truly well-organized political constituency… It’s not the companies or the money that really makes [the NRA] successful; it’s that they’re a really effective political organization.”
He said journalists should engage more thoughtfully with the ideology and social practices of the NRA and its constituency.
** {Actually this is true with all stories, or public facts presented. Yet so many want a quick fix to quickly remove or change - but so often not effective.}
** {The NRA stands for proper firearms handling and safety practices of guns! Not the wild west attitude of many people have been told.}
