It is in upmost gratitude that Nadine, my partner, came with me to the Alvarado Hospital, and I was able to take a series of upbeat photos as we spent the time preparing for our Surgery Appointment. There are times like these, when health concerns seem so complicated and involved that I realize my life is perhaps merely a story to be told. I want to do my best to tell that story and hopefully in the process contribute to making a more beautiful world.
INTRODUCTION
Years ago, when I had Hip Revisions around 2001, I committed that through my "Getting Hip" I would help medicine and hospitals "Get Hip" to being all they can be.
In the last three years, I have been a "frequent flyer" at my local Alvarado Hospital in San Diego. I am getting familar with the nurses. Being wheeled onto the surgery table, one helper tells me he is going to talke care of me. He remembers me from last time.
The characters in my health journey are taking their places. My kidney surgeon specialist is a real specialist. He mainly knows kidneys. He is gettng my M.O. I ask a lot of questions. He calls herbs that I would take to help remove the grains of shcokwad kidney stone, "Voodoo Medicine that has no science." He shall remain namelless. He is one of thousands upon thousands of M.D.'s in the US who have not yet discovered evidence based work on herbs. He has little time for new insigthts perhaps. I will ask him.
Meanwhile, conventional medicine is becoming more integrative. I saw it at the 12th Annual Integrative Medicine Conference #scrippsnatsup January 16-18, where I was press.
This album and sharing my healing journey is dedicaed to the soul of a 17-year-old young woman who had everything going for her, opportunities to learn, grow, and become the precious expression of life that she was. I heard about her death in a car accident the day before my visit to the Alvarado Hospital.
I also dedicate this album to Ralph Bronner, a member of the Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps family, he died the same weekend before my kidney stone procedure of a heart attack. He was, and shall remain always in my heart, as a joyful,l elegant giver of Magic and song. He is the star of the video "Dr. Bronner's Magic Soapbox." I encourage you to see the film.
I shall continue to follow in his footsteps--a lover of life till I take my last breaths in this lifetime.

Bedside Manner of Kidney Surgeon Leaves something to be desired
Having residues of the bedside manner of the kidney specialist the morning after the Shockwave Lithrotripsy (SWL).
Comments kidney surgeon made were a nightmare. He is the antithesis of an integrative MD. I asked about taking herbs following the surgery. These I would take to help the grains of "sand" from the shockwaved and blasted Kidney stone participles to exit.
He called the herbs voodoo medicine that have nothing to do with science.
He appeared to take issue with the point that I had questions. "You always have a lot of questions," he said.
This morning that made me smile a bit.
Dr. Bernard Jensen would ask in his lectures, "Any questions?" Then, I would say, "I have a question!" He would say, "You always have questions!" This was one of our routines we did at times. It happened on numbers of occasions.
Antibiotics and Bowel Activity
My bowel was quiet all day yesterday. No bowel movements at all, except a couple times I had to drop some water from my bowel before the surgery. Nothing after or until this morning.
I just had the runs. The runs are starting up again.
The kidney surgeon told me to take antibiotics today and tomorrow.
I took one last night.
I am resistant to take the doses of antibiotics today and tomorrow.
I better start now if I am going to take them.
Antibiotics causes a loss of friendly bacteria. This concerns me. I have had diarrhea for eight months since right before my last SWL.
I am tracing my current state of diarrhea for six months to the last round of antibiotics. The kidney surgeon is giving me the antibiotics to prevent infection.
Took antibiotic. I cannot take a chance of infection.

possible consequences of infection. I am concerned that few grains appear to be coming out. I am straining my urine. I am writing this note now on February 14, 2015.

All in all, I am pleased with my recovery and pain levels.
On this the fourth day, I am still have some pain--about a four on a scale of ten--when I urinate. Sometimes it is less painful.
i have been using the AminoActiv and Boiron Arnica, rather than the Narcotic that I received.

Ouch! Fourth day…noon. I did not take the AminoActiv this morning, till after noon. I was started to wilt from too much activity doing chores around the house. I forgot that when I am taking this natural Anti-Inflammatory, I do not have a clear read out on how much energy I actually have under normal circumstances.
One of the blessings of the last month was that I was able to stop using the AminoActiv every day. I wanted to feel my real energy. I was doing more exercise. I truly believe in this supplement for emergency conditions. I do not want to be on it when I do not need it. I still need it.

This is a night held in reverence by some as Chinese New Year as well as Ash Wednesday. We had a beautiful sunset. I am celebration the third day of the possible end of an eight month cycle of intense daily persistent diarrhea, and weight loss of going from 123 to 108. My bowel movements are showing major improvement. I attribute this to the Bio Botanicals Research Product called Proflora®. I began taking this product during the final day of a three and a half day regimen of antibiotics called Ciprofloxacin HCL 500 MG.
I still am not finding a regularity, however, the bowel movements show a decided improvement in the way I am digesting food. This is making me feel very hopeful, in spite of other potentially stressful events around the house that I am holding in perspective.

I started to use Proflora today a number of times. I have had a couple of bowel eliminations in the last 30 minutes. They seem better than water. The earliest this morning was pure watery stool. That was before I started to use the Proflora.

I need a practitioner to help with Admin of the Bio Botanicals.

I believe very strongly in the supplements that I received from the Bio Botanicals Research company.
There are many testimonials about them on the Internet.
They are available over the counter however it's important to have a practitioner that I work with regarding how much to take and I assumed rotating them.

I am drinking as much water as I can.
Almost constantly. I have to constantly remind myself to drink, drink, drink!
I do not see grains of sand from SWL coming coming out. I am at a loss to understand how much is suppose to come out and the size they are intended to be. I am straining my urine and collecting it.

Heading for Hospital
I took time before heading to the hospital to get my head in the positive space. I wanted to switch into enchanted Gardener mode.
The first old-fashioned Rose was blooming next to our orange tree in the side front yard. Nadine had some resistance to my picking it. I knew it would be a valuable asset to take with us.
I greeted everyone at the hospital with an invitation to smell the rose.
I also spent some time at the orange tree.
It is in full bloom now
I took a picture of the baby and one of the blossoms.
There was also the first of a stand of small sunflowers that boob the morning I was going to the hospital.
The most amazing and beautiful lizard on the rocks on the bricks near our entryway who nadine noted was doing exercise
I was able to take a photo of this beautiful lizard. I've never seen a list so colorful here.
I want to do everything I can to help the grains of broken up kidney stone release from my body.
I will wait till Monday to begin using herbs full on.
I will wait because the kidney surgeon called herbs voodoo medicine.
He suggested months ago that I use potassium citrate to keep from growing more kidney stone.
The problem I have with this is that potassium citrate causes diarrhea.
I have already had diarrhea for eight months
This did not seem an option that I wanted to explore.
I want to explore using the Arabs in a disciplined manner to help me move the grains of sand.
I also learned from the YouTube on lithotripsy that using a slant board could help release some of the grains.
I will do that today.

There are numbers of thing I began to do prior to surgery to create a new orientation to life. I was motivated by desire to return to nature. It appeared that I went to head with more invasive kidney surgery that was recommended for January 21 I would be hooked forever into the conventional medical model.
As it is even with the less invasive kidney procedure of lithotripsy I think I am taking anabiotic's that very much have resulted in inbalance in my flor
REBUILDING MY HEALTHY FLORA AFTER FINISHING MY ROUND OF ANTIBIOTICS TODAY
I BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE THE RUNS EARLY MORNING OF THE SECOND DAY FOLLOWING MY LITHOTRIPSY.
I began to experience and runs the second day following my lithotripsy. This was the morning after the The drugs of surgery and taking some antibiotics.
I'm going to do everything I can to build my Flora once I stop the antibiotics.
I will begin that regimen Saturday morning February 14, Valentine's Day

One of the greatest blessings in my life in the last month has been returning to the Taoist Sanctuary in San Diego for Tai Chi warm-ups and Qigong class.
I am clear that this has been an important measure to help reverse the tingling sensations I was having in my legs and my arms from too much sitting.
I need to get back to these classes as soon as possible.
THE STENT AND STRING HANGING FROM MY PENIS
This is the third time that I have had a stent and string hanging from my penis following kidney stone procedures in the last three years.
I had hoped to get the stent removed on Monday, February 16.
However this will be inconvenient for the kidney specialist and his staff.
Their office is closed on Monday for a national holiday, Presidents' Day.
The kidney surgeon is currently out of the office on Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday. His assistant is in the office on Thursday, February 19. I therefore will have an appointment at 11 am on the 19th to remove the stent.
When I called to ask about the stent February 12 the nurse answered. She looked at the calendar and let me know that the timing would be inconvenient for them until the 19th. She commented stents could stay in a long time. She did not have a sensitivity to what it was like for me to have the stent string hanging from my penis. I am not having pain this morning Feb 13. My only sense of discomfort right now is my penis.
I'M GOING TO CHECK IN WITH MY FRIENDS AT AMINOACTIV
I have a good report about Aminoctiv. I was able to avoid taking narcotics for pain following my surgery procedure. I'm doing my best to keep an accurate tally of when I'm taking AminoActiv.

I went to Dr. Richard Butcher my primary care doctor on Monday, February 9 two days before the lithotripsy.
I weighed in with much of my clothes on at 113.
This made me feel good.
I happened weighing in at 110.
Then naked on the scale at Alvarado Hospital I weighed in at 108.
This is the lowest weight I've had so far since last June when I weighed no less than 123.
Last night February 12 I started to feel discouraged about the possibility that I would be having another round of increased diarrhea.
I do not feel I can afford another six months of diarrhea due to a lack of healthy Flora and my gut.
I just spoke to both Ariella Shira and Morea last night.
They are healers on my team.
Ariella Shira did some strong listening allowing me to tell my story
I also told my story on the phone to Dr. Larkin Reno, a lifelong friend.
Then I told part of my story to Morea. Maria listened and remembered protocols for putting healthy got back to you about through the rectum.
This was a good insight and help me see things differently.

INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE AT THE ALVARADO HOSPITAL
I WANT TO MAKE A FEW COMMENTS ABOUT THE STAFF AT THE ALVARADO HOSPITAL.
This is my third visit to the Alvarado Hospital in two years.
I'm beginning to recognize their faces.
I've always had a kind feeling toward nurses.
This kind feeling goes back decades to my first visit to the hospital in Utah where I had my hip replacements.
The nurses were very kind to be there.
The nurse staff is very kind here.
I was glad they allowed me to take photos of my process. It calms me and uplift my spirits when I take photos.
I'm also increasingly sensitive that's nurses do not want their photos taken.
I made an effort not to overamp. One of the nurses had a difficult time getting in the I've
I did not make a big deal out of this but merely remained calm.
It was also lovely having spirit touch end.
I was greeted at my preop appointment by Vickie Butcher the wife of Dr. Richard Butcher my primary care physician. We have a standing date each January 1 when we talk about faith as part of Kwanzaa activities.
Vickie.was with me both during the pre-op visit on Monday, February 10 Tuesday, February 10 as well as in my presurgery hours.
Turns out that Dr. Richard Butcher served a year as Chief of Staff for the Alvarado Hospital. He is a major contributor to helping the underserved in San Diego. It is an honor to have him and Vicky's friends.
Getting help.
I know Richard will do all we can working with multicultural HealthNet to get me the unique providers I need.
I know there are limits to what the insurance of Medicare and Medi-Cal can provide.
I do not want to limit the providers and healing team I need I thought that I do not have funds to pay them.
I know that my healing is a service project to help uplift and integrate medicine.
Something good will come out of my experiences with diarrhea, parasites, Candida, and kidney stones.
I want to leave a legacy that through my getting hit, a reference to hip revisions, I will uplift and help hospitals and medicine get hip to being all they can be.
I like that the Alvarado Hospital and my kidney specialist is less then 20 minutes from my house a few short miles away.
I will help uplift the Alvarado Hospital.
I will do all I can to ask questions of my kidney specialist.
I'm thinking of bringing him some stinging metal key and signs of gratitude for their assistance.
It is now Friday, February 13 in the morning hour. I will get up and begin my day with the new no active and exercise.

Had a difficult time getting out of bed. Had to stop and pray. I want to move forward. I want to move up. Spirit--unbroken wholeness--being Impacted by unsettled information from a new housemate moving in, and a couple other unstable events at home regarding rents, and learning to live together on this little row boat called the EGIC. Really, Really taking me to the depths of Faith and trusting.
Something Really Good is also happening!
This is lifting my spirit!

My celebration this morning is that the diarrhea condition I have had for more than eight months seems to be improving for the positive. I attribute this to the workings of the Bio Botanical Research Inc Product called Proflora®. This is the main new remedy I have consistently added since Saturday, the last day I finished the full regiment of antibiotic called Ciprofloxacin.
I have also been vigilant with my food intake, two meals of millet yesterday with two portions of low oxalate greens. Condiments included a new garlic spread I am starting to use that has flaxseed oil and is organic. A little sauerkraut from Happy Pantry.
I want to blog separately on this improvement!
D-Mannose from Now Brand Added as well
I was starting to experience what felt like potential Urinary Tract irritation from the stent and possible bacteria. I researched and was recommended to take D-Mannose. This was confirmed by two sources. Purchased last night and have taken three rounds of three capsules each since last night. This feels positive.

Healing Family Relatioships Journal
Had a phone call with closest of blood relations on Sunday. It was heated. I raised my voice and so did she. Grateful we both hung in there.
Sending prayers her way. I was surprised my kidneys allowed the heated loudness. I have experienced kidney shocks from similar outbreaks.
New insight: I want to write about why I am not comfortable yelling. I was told not to yell by a parent. I stopped yelling. I got arthritis.
Nature of Trauma: It knows no time until released. It can be in there for decades as if it happened this very minute. New and old trauma…I need to learn about this. She had new trauma. It triggered trauma from earlier in the year. I have been triggering trauma that is in me for decades from childhood.

Dinner, Aduki beans, saurekraut.
Took Nadine to the Trees for Health Garden for the first time.
We took a brief nap. She had class tonight.
Instability at home. New unstable housemate situation. Serious.
Putting this on back burner. Taking time to acknowledge enormous
accomplishment.
Next: How to get more of the fragments out using herbs, and managing the PH.
Some new issues with bowel now that stool is forming. Tissue hemorrhoids.
Have to remember now to push. New issue. Tired. Going to bed. Will drink water and remember the day.
