Zen versus Monsanto
There is nothing more powerful in America than Corporate Wealth. You can buy elections. It can influence public opinion through out right lies and scare tactics. There is nothing more powerful in America then the workings of Monsanto Corporation, except of course the power of a single mother to protect her children.
And this is the story of Zen Honeycutt. I met Zen at a GMO strategy meeting a number of years ago in Los Angeles. We had a strong connection. I do believe I planted seeds with her.
She had a powerful dream called Mom's across America. She was getting ready to have mothers march in a July 4 parade.
When last I saw Zen she was giving a highly educated talk at the 2014 national heirloom expo in Santa Rosa, Ca.
The latest I heard was that she attended the shareholders meeting in St. Louis at the end of January at Monsanto Corporation headquarters.
From what I can tell she blew the socks off many of the attendees.
She influenced indirectly public opinion.
I follow her on Facebook. It wasn't surprising that a day or so after her journey to St. Louis, she posted pictures on Facebook.
The pictures were not so much of her trip back east but the fun she had spending quality time with her family and kids.
Shopping today in San Diego in this moment, I'm running into organic produce that's GMO free as well as organically grown.
I'm finding the verified non-GMO label all over this Sprouts marketplace.
My friend Jeffrey Smith who wrote the book seeds of deception talks about the tipping point where consumers will choose non-GMO.
This he and I see as the death of corporate survival in the marketplace.
I want to take a moment now while shopping to ackNowledge Zen Honeycutt.
She is one shopper and mother who did the best that she could do.
I see her being the guest of honor heading up the parade.
