I want to process some of my feelings in this blog.

My father Rabbi Solomon Goldman died February 7, 2014. I came home yesterday February 14 from Los Angeles. I spent the week with family members, connecting with some of them at a deeper level for the first time. I lost my mother at the age of 12 in 1960. My father was laid to rest in a cemetery plot next to her at the Home of Peace. I wrote a book called "Rekindling of Faith" with reflections and growth I received processing the death of my mother and relationship with my father. I have been revisiting Original Pain Work, decades later through the event of my Father's Passing. I took a lot of footage during the week. My father was considered a Holy Man by his community. He served thousands of family members with compassion. He was involved serving the bereaved and doing various services for the departed for 68 years. I started these Plant Your Dream Blog for those who would like to share in the journey with me of making peace with our Father and healing Family Relationships.

Reflections from the Funeral
My dad was experienced as a Holy Man by his Orthodox community.
I am on my iphone. I will be in Los Angeles sitting shiva through Monday.
There are great expectations of the son of an orthodox jew..

My father served his community here for many years, going to the Cemetery here on Sundays for many years. I shared time with Adam Hess, the Funeral Director, at the Home of Peace before the funeral. I want to put up some of these very moving Videos.

I am just beginning to process this.
Below is a video I made with my dad in March 2010.
He was a respected Rabbi in Los Angeles among his Orthodox community and loved by many.
I am preparing to go up to Los Angeles to be with my relatives. The funeral is on Sunday.

I wasn't prepared to take a trip right now. This morning I was having intense pain in my right shoulder and down to my wrist.
The other day, I was very dizzy all day. I believe it was an inner ear infection.
I am sorry I did not call my dad this morning, the day he died.
I am listening to some spiritual Jewish music I like very much right now.
It is called, "Wings of Peace" and As the Deer Yearns," by Rabbi Aryeh Hirshfield who died while swimming on the day of his son's wedding.
This is very powerful music.
This is a way I am honoring my father.
My niece has been steadfast in caring from my father. She spend most of yesterday with him. He was weak.
They were in a car accident on Sunday on the way back to the Elder Care facility where he was living.
There will be all kinds of practices that they follow in the Orthodox tradition that are foreign to my life and practices.
My sister Vivian had four children. I am close to Eva, the youngest. All Vivian's Children are in the Orthodox Tradition.
I want to be authentic with my own feelings regarding this.
Life Passages are powerful experiences that create opportunities for family to come together.
My father chose a good moment to pass out of the body.
The Shabbat, Friday Night-Saturday 24 hour period, was a precious time for him.
His body is being watched by a Shomer, a man who sits with the dead. My dad did that service for many years and is well known at the cemetery for the sincerity and authenticity of his prayers.
He was a special gift to the bereaved.
I will read a poem from my book "Rekindling of Faith' to my dad.

DAY AFTER FUNERAL
Monday Feb 10, The Day after the Funeral.
I spoke at the Funeral yesterday. I want to put up some of the videos.

I felt forced to say prayers that aren't my prayers.

Holy Man coming to The Shiva House to give comfort and i had to play a role. I did my best. He was so beautiful
BUSTING MY OWN LABELING OF PEOPLE BEFORE I KNOW THEM
My niece Eva had no extra energy to give to me this week of the Funeral after giving so much. I needed energy to be able to stay in town. One of the things that Eva wanted to tell me was that I was labeling people without knowing them. She pointed me in the direction of this Chassidic lawyer who goes to court and does not compromise his spiritual values.
I am writing this on February 15, 2014, 8 days following the death of my father.
Today Nadine and I went to Rabbi Wayne Dosick's Elijah Minyan.
I wanted to connect my energy to San Diego.
I am sad that I have not find my connection to God within a strong Jewish Context.
I realize I am still intensely traumatized at the cellular level.

Watched some of the funeral video. Eva's talk was touching.
I will put it up.
Feeling of loss setting in deeply.
I have not been alone much since the death of my father, February 7, 2014.
I am using Grief relief, Flower Essence in the Flourish Line from Flower Essence Society. This is the first time I have used this formula. I have been using Five Flower Essence for shock.
