Where did the truth go?
**** Here is a post from Allison Sipes ... very thoughtful and truth as we look at our present society! ****

The prophetic condition of church and state:
The last time I wrote about the several story changes by the FBI about the shooting to death of Ibragim Todashev in Orlando, several people pushed their 'dislike'
button.
I guess it is much easier to never have to read about the iron fist of a tyrannical government and our responsibilities toward it as citizens, than it is
to hear some truth.
At the risk of losing more supporters, I want to make another point today that is a hard pill to swallow.
The more American citizens tolerate totalitarianism in their government, the more totalitarian the government will become.
The more Christians opt for self indulgent and emotional church life, the less relevant the church will become.
The two are related.
I want us to think about the relationship, or common denominator, between government and the "Church."
Nearly 12 years ago surveys indicated that between 89-92 percent of Americans considered themselves
Christians. Today, similar surveys would peg that number between 73-76%.
According to a 2010 survey by the Pew Research Center, some 25% of Americans under 30 have no religious affiliation.
The trend in the "Church" has become less Biblical, more
tolerant of what the Bible defines as sin, and far more self indulgent, emotional and seeker sensitive.
Instead of bringing people from the world into Christianity, the "Church" has increasingly folded into the world.
During this same time period the government has become far more totalitarian. In the name of fighting Islamic terrorism, the Patriot Act took many of our freedoms away.
The government accelerated deficit spending, mortgaging our futures--we work longer to pay more to the government. Families become neglected, citizenship is more neglected. The result is a government where unconstitutional gestapo-like agencies, such as the FBI and the IRS now target political opponents and threats to national security--imaginary or real--without due process, with Constitutional recklessness.
It gets to the point where the government can outright lie, like with Benghazi, with impunity.
The more people fall away from the Lord, the less freedom they have.
Psalm 33:10-12 explains the entire cycle,
"The Lord brings the counsel of the heathen to naught:
he makes the devices of the people of none effect. The counsel of the Lord stands for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance."
Verse 20 says,
"Our soul waits for the Lord: he is our help and our shield."
The Lord watches over his people. It is a natural law of God that when his people turn away, they become of no effect, but there is blessing in the nation whose God is the Lord.
