Eco Art: Car Nation
Been doing more eco-art with play-on-words. "Eco Art by mayah" utilizes reused materials and earth-friendlier art supplies.

Play on Words: Carnation/Car Nation
Reused materials: magazine photo, corrugated cardboard, cereal box cardboard, plastic shrinkwrap from packaging, advertisement flier, scrap paper from other art projects, frame from Goodwill Industries. nontoxic glue, unbleached wax paper backing. computer and hand drawn carnation.
I messed around for three days figuring out and creating a backing for a large frame that was too shallow for the art work--you can't see it from this photo but the car picture "pops out" 3-D with a thick cardboard backing. After creating a box in the back of the frame so that there would be depth, I glassed in the car picture/carnation. After all of that work, decided that I didn't like it and dismantled the whole thing. The second time used this wooden hand-made frame from Goodwill that has no glass; the car picture is wrapped in reused shrinkwrap so it really didn't need to be behind glass in the first place. The work is actually stuck on the front of the frame, not behind it. Sometimes simple is better.
