The following picture is an acid crystal associated with diet and/or metabolism viewed in the blood under pHase contrast microscopy. The body uses alkaline buffers such as sodium and calcium to chelate acids in the blood and lymph fluids to protect healthy body cells and prevent internal bleeding. The white crystals are generally associated with the acid sugar, such as sucrose, fructose, glucose, etc.
