Gulf Oil Spill Investigation
Now Includes Tens Of Thousands Of Abandoned Wells

Committee members wrote in a letter Thursday to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar that they were responding to an Associated Press investigation released last week on the 27,000 abandoned wells in the Gulf. The AP reported that the wells are not routinely inspected when plugged or subsequently monitored for leaks.
"These wells could pose an additional danger to the Gulf Coast environment and economy," wrote U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass., who heads the subcommittee on energy and environment. They asked for details on the number of wells as well as leaking and inspection requirements. They asked for an initial reply by Monday.

Natan Mallinger is just what the doctor ordered.
We really needed some new youth around the house,
as he says, someone not emcumbered by all the pain
that can happen when have some years under our belts.
There are basically too many people
living here in one small enchanted house,
and so our solution of late, is to add one more.
Not only do we have Natan,
our new housemate,
but Kristine, a sweet lady from
Toronto who just showed up with a note
on the board saying, she was here
and a guest of one of our other housemates.
Kristine makes some wonderful crackers,
delightful and tasty.
Yesterday was my first day in weeks
when I was able to get some focus to
write an article for Vision Magazine,
as well as help Keep The Beet Media Star
complete on her column for the "Space of Love"
Magazine summer issue.
I was happy with the story I did for Vision Magazine.

Then, in the afternoon, I started to work with
Keep The Beet. I got lost between too many different
ideas, starting cutting and pasting
into Microsoft Word 08.
I got completely frustrated with the clarity of
my inspired listening having housemates steps
going up and down outside my door and through
my head, all kinds of extra conversations in the kitchen,
Kristine singing, and lots of unclarity
about the state of community in our house right now.
It is no easy task living in this Summer Shift 2010.
I have been totally exhausted.
I cannot tell you what I have been doing from day to day,
some nights up in the middle of the night
enjoying intimate sharing with housemates,
up early in the morning exciting with communications
with Natan and Angelene, or totally blowing it,
attempting to create Sacred Space
and connnect the dots too late in the evening.
I called a Council of Sorts Wednesday night
with the theme of "Dough: on the board.
The Gathering was set for 9 PM.
I wrote $$$$ signs. I had in mind
to see if I could string some pearls between
the incredible intimacy I had during the night
from 2 am to 4 pm Tuesday morning,
to the session with Natan in the garden,
to Angelene in the kitchen.
Angelene suggested 9 pm Wednesday night.
I went for that, putting a note on the board.
I did not know who was coming.
I completely blew out my energy.
I worked right up to 9 pm on making a movie.
Then realized that a few housemates,
one who said he would pray on coming,
did come. I had no idea until he showed up
that his prayers said be there.
On top of this, Scott, who is moving out,
showed up. Every one had separate agenda's.
Scott wanted to show his wonderful slides of
Crop Circles. Anna came and drummed,
but the Dough never got made.
The Dough: What I had in mind was not
a business meeting. Oh my God!
A business meeting at 9 PM??????
Please, My moon energy is out by then,
I wanted to experience a real dough making.
I imagined us all sitting around the glass table
in the dining room, kneeding literal dough.
I bought Oat flour. I also bought some very
expensive Hunza mix from O.B. People's Food Store.
I wanted us to be sitting together,
mainly nonverbally, creating community together.
Oops!!!! Did I mess up.
The wheels of community building on planet earth
press forward slowing, especially here
at the Enchanted Garden where I realize now,
The Enchanted Garden Intentional Community
is still a Vision that is fully alive as a Seed Dream in
my head, and coming alive as a concept
on the internet, but has in no way fully been grounded
here on on A______ St. within walking distance
of SDSU. A number of our housemates
do not even what to see our address in public.
They, and I understand this, want to stay private
at a time when in no way is what we are doing here
going to be a secret for too much longer.

today.
