What to bring: A dish to share for potluck.
The
goal of the IMDG is to build bridges among health care practioners
through discussion and establishing connections among current and
future doctors. We can increase the awareness of an integrated Eastern
and western medical community by sharing information on different
modalities that may help our patients.
This discussion will focus on the proposed policies and recommendations
for moving forward with integrative medicine. What does this look like
in practice? What are your needs surrounding integrative medicine?
The Institute of Medicine (IOM) recently released Integrative Medicine
and the Health of the Public: A Summary of the February 2009 Summit .
This publication summarizes the discussions of the Summit on
Integrative Medicine and the Health of the Public, which brought
together more than 600 participants from many disciplines to examine
the practice of integrative medicine, its scientific basis, and its
potential for improving health.
