Traveling upon my pathway of life; at certain times I have met some special people who have influenced the lives of others... Such was my fortune, this past weekend at a Barns & Nobel book signing in the Mall of America in MSP... Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger; now world famous for his quick decision and excellent handling of an emergency landings of the crippled US Airlines Flight 1549, into the Hudson River NYC, thus saving all the passengers and crew...
I must admit that he has lived a very interesting set of events in his pathway of life...
He is the type person, who has learned to live his life by taking into account the human limitations...
He Graduated from the Air Force Academy, and attended Purdue, with a master-of-science, in Industrial Machines; (human factors) which study the human limitations in relation to the effective use of machines...
He came to an understanding of how machines {Epically Aircraft} should be designed so people could use them more effectively... This has served him well, and contributed to his current status as an excellent experienced pilot who has flown Commercial airlines with over a million passengers, plus Air Force Fighters, back to the days as a youth learning to fly crop dusters in rural Texas...
There is an old saying among pilots:
" There are bold pilots, and there are old pilots; but there are no old bold pilots! "
