CLINICAL
SIGNIFICANCE
"The clinical significance for the study
in the skin conductance measurement by CEDS and electrical stimuli from
Stim-1- is to locate tissue dysfunction of the jaws that may be the
cause of dysfunction to the body. Using a small test probe allows
clinical investigators to pin point the area to be biopsieD. X-rays can
over look areas that are hidden between heavy cortical plates of bone,
ex. the lower third molar area. This information could help the CEDS
health practitioner to screen and recognize sights without an invasive
procedure to the patients jaw. Research information with Stim-1- and
biopsies of the jaw tissue will give clinical significance to the
effectiveness of the instrument."

"R
measures electrical resistivity which is determined by conductive
particles in the tested biological fluid. Not only will this give you
insight about those physiological functions involved in removing mineral
compounds from the blood and saliva, it also provides information on
mineral status in toto. Nutrient specific information can be obtained
via erythrocyte mineral profiles, vitamin profiles and challenge tests
or high quality electro-dermal screening. The relevance of
minerals (and vitamins) must be obvious, they are co-factors for enzymes
and hormones and also provide buffering for endogenous and exogenous
acids."

"Organized
dentistry has been reluctant to acknowledge the potential problems of
toxic materials used in the mouth. The
truth is there are many variables. Each of us is different in the
capacity of our body to eliminate toxins from our system. Because each
of us presents a unique situation it is important that materials to be
used in our mouths be screened to insure bio-compatibility for us. This
is readily done with different types of bio-energetic response testing.
One form of this is muscle response testing {Applied Kinesiology, CRA}.
Another form would be use of one of a number of instruments designed to
measure changes in the electro galvanic skin response. This
technology is called Electro-Dermal Screening {EDS}. There are
also blood tests used that were originally developed by Hal Huggins, DDS
and Jess Clifford, PhD. These blood tests are of value in screening
broad classes of materials- though it is generally agreed amongst
colleagues I speak to about this that bioenergetic
response testing {either kinesiology or EDS } is more definitive."

"It
is unfortunate that NICO is usually not visible on x-ray. Many cases are
missed even by experienced diagnosticians, since 35- 50% of bone loss is
necessary before changes become radiographically evident. That is where
electro-acupuncture diagnostic screening comes in. I know dentists who
are bold enough, and trust good electro-dermal screening practitioners
sufficiently, to drill into bone at the site indicated as a reading
focus. It is very satisfying to both parties when the cortex is breached
and a cavity filled with biological sludge makes its presence known."

A
Dental Focus as a Cause of Trigeminal Neuralgia: Case Report
Abstract:
"The
underlying cause of a 2 year history of increasingly severe unilateral
earache was identified as a partially erupted lower third molar tooth.
Previous multi-disciplinary investigations had been unable to identify
the cause. The correct diagnosis was made by electro-dermal screening (EAV)
and subsequently confirmed by local anesthetic block. Extraction of the
tooth, together with debridement of the surrounding tissues, resulted in
immediate and permanent remission of pain with a 2 year follow-up."

The
Marburg amalgam detoxification study
by Bernhard A. Weber, Regina Schneider
"Since
1992 the private Marburg Institute for Naturopathic Medicine offers
amalgam information in several cities and since 1994 it offers a
nationwide telephonic amalgam advice service(06421/66379).
"Investigations
on more than 1200 patients have shown a chronic mercury poisoning from
amalgam fillings. About 50 % of those patients removed their amalgam
fillings after the investigation.
"130
patients finished the detoxificational therapy by now. They were
questioned for improvement of their symptoms and were investigated
again.
"According
to the intensity of the detoxification, 80 % of the patients showed a
good or even excellent improvement of symptoms.
"These
results show distinctly the dangerousness of amalgam fillings."

"Chinese
medicine is eliminating the stigma of being unscientific by combining
age-old practices with modern technology. At the Foundation for
East-West Medicine in Taipei, doctors are using an electro-dermal
screening device (ESD) to pinpoint the source of an illness. The ESD
measures what traditional Chinese medicine refers to as the "energy
flow" in a patient's body by probing the acupuncture points.
Acupuncture is applied in the dentistry department, for example, to
locate problems by tracking the places of energy stasis in the mouth.
Once the problem area is detected, dental instruments are used to
pinpoint and treat the problem."

Whole-Body
Dentistry: Discover The Missing Piece To Better Health (Paperback)
by Mark A. Breiner, Marietta Anastassatos, Justin R. Breiner
(Introduction), Robert C., M.D. Atkins (Introduction)
"I
saw that one reviewer here disliked the use of "EAV"
(Electro-dermal Screening). I would like to provide a more detailed
look at this technology. I have not seen EAV used in the dental
practice, but have friends who have tried it, and I have personally
seen it used (several times) to detect hidden medical problems in a
non-dental area. I have had done to myself (non-dental).
"Here's
my take on this situation: 1) a good dentist can clearly see the major
problems in your mouth and you really don't need the EAV screening in
most standard cases, 2) it's value comes when the dentist can't see
things visually, or doesn't see them with x-rays, 3) it must be used
by a skilled practioner and this means they should know accu-puncture
as well as conventional medical diagnostic techniques (being a
conventional MD is a real plus), 4) the big criticism on EAV should be
that it can tell WHERE the problem is, but not WHAT the problem is.
"Overall,
its a device for finding things... in the hands of a skilled practitioner.
Unfortunately, many dentists who want to go non-conventional may think
that simply buying and using this equipment will make them a better
dentist, or let them charge more. The problem is not the tool, but in
its use, and its requirement for a skilled practitioner."
