Thanksgiving (Not the Holiday) ... by kerminator Blog entry

Everyone has thought about this... [/b] Where did we come from, how did we get here, and why are we here??

More than just those questions is the resolution to be thankful for the life we have... It all goes back to the history, It is the on going ever evolving element of life... All that past is gone and for the most part we had little if any control over what transpired...

What we do have is the opportunity to be grateful for life and any thing we have... Too much of the world to day as displayed in the mass media; shows happiness is everyone getting more stuff!! Not that they need more but that this is the way to satisfaction...

From observations over the past half century, I do not agree that any amount of stuff will ever make anyone happy... Be sides being happy is a state of mind, not the amount of things you have... I have known people who have very little, if anything of value, but are 100% happy with their life!!

What do we need to understand about being happy??

1) First: We are here to learn to accept our calling... Most people are too involved in the things of life to even see their calling... They just go from one thing to another looking for happiness... The calling we were each given is burned into our souls, but we must break away from the everyday clutter and seek our destiny...

2) Most of earthly life is wasted on trivial matters... While some time for personal maintenance [eating, sleep, grooming, etc.] is necessary, unfortunately many people use the majority of their time in pursuit of idle things... We need to learn to concentrate on the real vital things of life...

3) Learning to uncluttered and organize our life is the most important thing we can do... It takes the learning of self control and effort toward the Eternal things in life... This is where we must come to the realization that there is more to life than just ME!!

4) The DID principle:

(D) Dependence; We all come into this world dependent upon the aid and concern of others... IT is through this guidance, hopefully through love and concern that we develop into a responsible thinking adult...

(I) Independence: It is here that we become aware of our real calling and purpose in life!! In our adult state we exercise our Independence and choose our life style... It is here that should come to realize there is more to life than just what we see!!

(D) Dependence; If we have an open heart and seek the true calling and purpose of life we come to realize that we can't do it all... Here is where those who have a heart felt desire come to know that, we are all dependent on a higher power... It is here that we seek the revelation and meaning of our life through prayer and mediation...

It is here that we come to learn it is not about what we have but how we live and come to express our gratitude!! Thanksgiving is the key to our future life!!
