Each flower of the tree results
in a new branch that grows in a different direction.
"It is my sense
that the development of the earthward,
bending gesture in this tree reminds
the Human Soul that spiritual knowledge
must include what is experienced in life on earth.
Each branching of the tree
is a picture of how the “I”
integrates the individual human aspects
of the life biography into a more comprehensive
spiritual consciousness.
It is only within the core-self identity
that this awareness can take place.
In this, lies the real meaning of human evolution
as well as the purpose of incarnation on Earth."

ALLOWING PLANTS TO HELP US
INTRO AND PREMISE
Sometimes I get this image of plants
standing on the sidelines of culture and civilization
waiting to help us.
I see a human hand
moving fingers against a desk, patiently
and impatiently waiting for each of us to get
a clue that plants are important to us.
As Edmond Bordeaux Szekely said,
we are not here to ask nature to adapt to us.
This is a question of surviving this day now.
We are called to adapt to nature.
This is the most pressing issue of our times
as I see it.

Friday
I have been feeling panic the last hour or so.
I laid down to rest.
I called Windwalker Dorn,
a medicine person who I met at the
Multicultural Earth Day at the World Beat Center
April 17, 2011. Then, we spend the day together
at San Diego State University
when Julia Butterfly Hill and Daryl Hannah
came to town. That was the Wednesday
before Earth Day at SDSU, April 20.
APRIL 19 was
