The retina is thin, and a tear in it is a very serious blinding problem. The retina lines are the layer of nerve tissue inside the eyes. It contains light-sensitive cells which transfer signs to the brain and allow us to see. If you have a retinal tear, it can enable the liquid to enter below the retina and lead to retinal detachment.
