Thyroid cancer has an extremely high survival rate. Doctors would argue it is because they remove the thyroid before the cancer can spread to other areas (like lymph nodes). Since people can survive w/o a thyroid I can see where there is a tendency to dismiss it as a nuisance (, like tonsils, appendix). But in this day and age of litigation a doctor is pretty much forced to advise on thyroid removal in most cases. The good news is that even if it is thyroid cancer, they don’t use chemo on that type of cancer. That’s why you usually see an endocrinologist instead of an oncologist. I found out I had thyroid cancer when I went for something else and the Dr. felt the lump. They told me that if you’re going to get cancer, that’s the kind to get because they can just cut out your thyroid (and you take a little pill every day to replace it). I’ve been doing all sorts of alternative things - making organic vegetable juice and trying to eat mostly raw foods - but I also let them cut out my thyroid. In m ... 2,104 hits

Yes its good stuff as you said. My father had thyroid cancer and a year follow up with a iodine/rad pill showed no cancer but his thyroid numbers did not drop after being off it for a week. So the thyroid Dr. said the test wasn’t valid so they wanted him to take rad/sugar pet scan and again no cancer showed up including two previous spots on the lungs. My baby sister had two sisters with thyroid cancer both with spots on the lungs! I am glad I found this link. I had thyroid cancer removed in 2012, but refused the follow on radioactive iodine ablation. I did a number of alternatives, and thought I had beaten any remnants but clearly I did not, as the docs have found a cancer growing on my right thighbone, which is probably a metastasis from the thyroid. I will find out tomorrow what the doctor is going to recommend, but I have been reading some pretty discouraging pronouncements about thyroid to bone survival stats, so I am not very optimistic about what I shall hear. In seems that the Midwest states have the highest rate of thyroid cancer and thats why the Mayo Brothers setup shop in MN. Why do you think so many diagnoses of thyroid cancer are wrong? Is there a fundamental flaw in the practice of doing biopsies? That would be scary indeed! To be sure, iodine supplementation and other alternative treatments can help prevent thyroid cancer ... especially if folks can stop ”zombie-fying” their thyroids with the likes of Synthroid.
