I also have noticed that kind of extra-skin. Crusts, which I commonly use, are necessary for the rebuilding of the skin, and have to protect the underneath skin to rebuild properly. Skin sheds every 2 - 4 weeks EC can either be: 1 - skin cells growing so fast that the lips cant exfoliate at the rate they are growing. 2- skin cells dies too fast so the lips cant exfoliate them at the rate they are dying. My guess is number 2... I think dead skin usually falls of by itself...but the skin probably follows a certain routine where it produces skin that dies and reproduces every month....
