I’ve have been getting cold sores since I was around 11. I’ve done some research and found out that cold sores come from herpes sipmex one. I usually suffer from cold sores every 11-2 month, and I have tried many different creams, and pills. I had terrible cold sores, but I found a product called the cold sore eliminator at http://www.eliminatecoldsores.com I had tried virtually every other treatment on the market without success. This is the first product I found that worked. I was sceptical at first, but once I started using the thing it actually stopped my cold sore outbreaks. What you may be talking about is a canker sore, which can be caused by strong acids, such as the ones found in citrus. I’ve had many cold sores since I started my detoxing 2 years ago--I’ve come to look at them as a very unpleasant detoxing symptom. One thing I’ve learned about vit C supplementation is that it’s a good idea to avoid the ascorbic acid version. Cold sores are related to acidic blood and are aggravated (caused?) by it. The more acidic your blood, the more your cold sore will flare up (at least, that’s the case for me). I am a woman and I had sex with a woman the other night. When we woke-up the next morning we had sex again and I noticed afterwards that she had a cold sore on her face between her lips and her chin! I asked her about it and she said that she gets cold sores when she eats alot of citrus. She said she also gets the other kind of cold sores (herpes) and that this was not one of the contagious herpes cold sores! She assured me she knows the difference and is very careful when she gets the other kind and not to worry. Well, I am worried. Hey, I have a question. I have ordered Humaworm and am really excited about starting the cleanse. However, I am prone to cold sores, and know that starting Humaworm is likely to trigger an attack. The only thing that works for me to keep cold sores under control is L-Lysine (combined with Compeed patches), the creams do nothing to help me. I think there’s a bit of confusion here. It’s the herpes virus which causes cold sores, not hepatitis. Usually people get the cold sore virus as a child & I think around 92% of people have it. Usually it raises it’s ugly little sores when you least want them - often when you have another illness or have been out in extreme hot/cold weather. I have had both eczema & cold sores throughout my life but as far as I know one doesn’t affect the other. The only possible problem I can think of is transferring fluid from a weeping cold sore to broken skin on eczema. 4,100 hits

It is most effective at the first sign of a cold sore. Hello I was told by my doc that I have chronic Epstien Barr and very high levels at that. I think it causes me a lot of other health problems and I understand that this is part of the herpes group of viruses. Does anyone know if the same protocalls will help me? Interesting about the hydrogen peroxide. I had a recent cold sore flare up. Once I felt/noticed the pre-cold sore swelling on my lip, I immediately swabbed the area down with hydrogen peroxide (for lack of a better alternative). I kept up with the hydrogen peroxide for three days, applying it liberally three to five times a day and letting it air dry on my lip. As a result, a potentially huge eruption was minor and was basically gone within four days (it normally takes two weeks for my cold sores to disappear). I was actually going to post about 3 weeks ago about my cold sore. I get one on my lower lip in the same spot everytime I get sick with a cold. This has happened for about 20 years now. Hi, Well, it’s totally obvious that your neice got the genital herpes type 1 on genitals from her bf and yes even when you don’t have cold sores or any thing you can still shed the virus with NO symptoms and as a reult transmit it to others and that’s how she got infected. By the way, I got genital herpes type 1 recently and I have no clue how because none of my boy friends have had a damn cold sore ever! and since I’m type 1 it must have come from some one’s oral herpes. Cold sores are caused by herpes, which is a virus that can cause flu-like symptoms when you get outbreaks (sores). If they are cold sores, you probably have type 1 hsv (herpes simplex virus) which is usually associated with oral herpes but can also cause genital herpes if spread to the genitals. I have had the cold sore virus for most of my life, and for the most part i would be inflicted once or twice a year, hardly a huge inconvenience....but for the past 6-8 months i have been getting cold sores just before my menstruation. its like clockwork, every month, and it is really starting to bother me. can anyone help me try to prevent this from continually happening, and/or help me find a relatively quick cure to zap the sores when they do appear? cheers. 4,812 hits

I really should put this in the FAQ, cold sores comes up quite often as a topic! :) People who are prone to cold sores usually do not handle tropical or citrus fruits all that well, or refined sugar. Too much acidic fruit and whammo, cold sores. They are usually deficient in probiotics, essential fatty acids, especially the medium-chain fatty acids that are in coconut oil. You can apply coconut oil directly to the sore to aid healing. They are often sensitive to the sudsing compounds in toothpaste and should switch to a toothpaste that is mainly just baking soda. I read somewhere that you can get a cold sore inside the nasal passages...has anyone ever experienced this? Is it like regular cold sores where you get those fluid filled blisters that I’ve read about? I’m wondering about this now because I used to get a very painful area inside of my nose with hardened mucous...it takes a few days for it to go away and sometimes it can cause bleeding :O. I was told that it had something to do with sinuses but of course it wasn’t a medical opinion. Can someone please tell me where you found the information that Vitamin D supplementation can cause cold sores? I stopped using Vitamin D when I realized it was creating severe muscle aches, tingling burning in the nerves of my lower legs, occasionally sore swollen red palms and painful joints. Then I read that you’re supposed to take zinc & boron & fish oil along with Vitamin D. ok, so i have the ’i’ve just started iodine so i have a HUGE cold sore’ cold sore, i immediately dabbed it with my lugol’s, then i had to pant all my lips so it looked like lipstick, i have to go out and collect m son later, i have upped my already high doses of vit c to 3mg a day any more advice or stories of recovery would be gratefully received, just remember i live in taly the land that supplements forgot. ciao d xx 9,210 hits

theres no argument that it works, its a disinfectant (bleach).Yes, it kills germs. I get an occasional cold sore too. It will stop spreading and heal while using nothing. I don’t know how I ended up with the virus, but it wasn’t from any type of sex or std I am 1000% sure of that. I guess genital warts are sexually transmitted, much like genital herpes...but a cold sore is herpes as well and anyone can get a cold sore. Its all very weird and confusing, but my dr. I think it is strongly possible that HSV / some other type of virus is the cause of EC. HSV / other viruses may manifest themselves differently for different people. I know that my mother gets cold sores, which means the possibility that I got HSV from her is very high, yet I have never had a cold sore lesion. Something like 80% of the population have been exposed to and test positive for HSV 1, which is often simply oral cold sores, which you have experienced. I dont think you need to inform any previous partners about this, I assume they were already aware that you got oral cold sores. If however you get retested and find that you have HSV 2 antibodies, then that makes it more likely you have gential herpes. (Although HSV 2 can still be oral!) 2,206 hits

One thing that you can experiment with to prevent cold sores is lysine supplementation. There appears to be a lot of evidence to suggest that lysine supplementation may infact prevent and help speed up recovery for chronic cold sore sufferers. Although I do not have Herpes 2 ..i have been getting cold sores for 24 yrs now..since i was 10.. I have tried EVERYTHING to get it to stop...the first day i felt it coming i applied grapefruit seed extract directly to my lip full strength...I never got it...so it will more than likely work for genital herpes...it did give me dry..cracked lips but would much rather have that than a cold sore..hehe...try this ...nothing else has ever worked for me...originally using it for my acne...seems to do really good on that also.. 2,019 hits
