Re: Low Blood Pressure - Candida or Die Off
by jameskep37 13 y
Blood pressure is another battle with candida. Anti-fungals usually cause my blood pressure to go up and then my blood pressure crashes to a low from the high. I always fight low blood pressure in the morning. Usually good salt/oils helps with the low blood pressure. I struggle more with low blood pressure in the winter and high blood pressure in the summer . Diurectics, laxatives, and flushes can affect blood pressure. Anything that causes electrolyte loss can affect your blood pressure.

Melatonin May Reduce Blood Pressure!

Melatonin May Reduce Blood Pressure
Researchers in the Netherlands conducted a small study on men with essential hypertension. Essential hypertension is associated with disturbed autonomic cardiovascular regulation (high blood pressure) and circadian pacemaker function (your ”internal” or ”biological” clock). In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover trial 16 men were given either a one time 2.5 mg oral dose 1 hour before sleep or they were administered a daily 2.5mg oral dose of melatonin daily for 3 weeks 1 hour before sleep(2). If a person’s circadian rhythm is broken, even a low-salt diet may increase resting blood pressure and the risk of vascular disease. There are many factors that can alter or change a person’s circadian rhythm, including disrupted sleep, shift work, aging, and disease. A circadian dysfunction can contribute to high blood pressure, and although a low sodium diet is advised to help lower blood pressure, a circadian dysfunction can still lead to high blood pressure – even with proper diet in place.

I would keep an eye on that heart of yours and if it happens again I would consider stopping the fast and going to a doctor to see what’s going on.
About the cocooning, that’s normal. This is the sensation people describe when they say the fast intensifies everything. It manifests differently for each person. I remember being able to smell like a bloodhound. A little whiff of perfume suddenly seemed like as if someone sprayed the entire bottle on themselves. Labile hypertension is blood pressure that fluctuates abruptly and repeatedly, often causing symptoms such as headache or ringing in the ears. People with labile hypertension often react to emotional stress with an increase in blood pressure. Frequently, traditional blood-pressure medicines have little effect. Some people with labile hypertension require anti-anxiety medications in order to gain control of their blood pressure.

It is not just dizziness that results from low blood pressure, fatigue can also be a problem too.
Low blood pressure can be as bad as high blood pressure.
Take a cup of raw beetroot juice two times a day for the low blood pressure.
Rosemary tea will help the blood circulation.
Licorice root can be used and raises blood pressure, and can be used as a tea.
People with high blood pressure should not consume licorice.

Everyone aged 55 and over should be taking drugs to lower their blood pressure, a London-based expert says. Epidemiology expert Professor Malcolm Law said blood pressure drugs cut the risk of heart attack and stroke even for those with normal blood pressure. His conclusion, published in the British Medical Journal and backed by other experts, is based on a review of 147 studies, involving 464,000 people. However, the Stroke Association warned the drugs could have side-effects. The research found most types ...

Yucca lowers blood pressure due to the sterols. Pau d’ arco no real effect. Dandelion root can lower blood pressure due to the diuretic effect of the potassium.
Herbs that can raise blood pressure include:
Goldenseal, barberry, Oregon grape root, gold thread (coptis), yohimbe, country mallow, and bitter orange (zhi shi, synephrine).
Licorice root is often listed as raising blood pressure also, but it takes about 50 grams daily over 6 months to raise blood pressure. That is a massive amount. And this effect can be countered with potassium supplementation. Because licorice roo ...

Cayenne pepper is a blood pressure equalizer. that is it make high blood pressure lower and low blood pressure higher.
Carry cayenne tincture in the car and have one at home and when he is dizzy or has low blood pressure (also helps high blood pressure), squirt some in his mouth. I use herbpharm brand but any organic or wildcrafted tincture will do (if you have none use cayenne powder in warm water..if you do not have that try 3 tbs of black pepper in tea which may well help as it is a stimulant herb but a little weaker than cayenne so you use more)

Hi with high blood pressure you need to eat more foods high in potassium (potassium lowers blood pressure).. like banana’s and avacodo’s and the only salt I would use would be unrefined sea salt or himilayan salt.
I have very low blood pressure so I stay away from potassium and use more salt (himilayan).
You can google potassium lowering blood pressure or high potassium diet and it will give you alot of info on how to naturally lower your blood pressure.

Do you know of any references or information of salt causing low blood pressure? A family member who stopped taking salt developed high blood pressure, so he added salt back into his diet and his blood pressure lowered to normal ranges.
Now when he takes salt, his blood pressure drops too low..in the low ninties over mid fifties range.
Also, what would you recommend for helping to raise blood pressure. Licorice root seems to be one herb that is good for that.

The best way to lower blood pressure will depend on the cause. For example high serum calcium can raise blood pressure due to the muscles contracting nature of calcium. Blood vessels are also muscles. The reason calcium channel blockers are frequently used to lower blood pressure is that they block calcium from contracting the blood vessels. Magnesium is a natural calcium channel blocker.
Diabetes is another common cause of high blood pressure as elevated insulin has a strong blood vessel contracting effect.
Angiotensin can contract blood vessels causing high blood pressure.

Tonic herbs are herbs that bring a balance. For example they will lower blood pressure if it is too high and raise the blood pressure if it is too low.
Adaptogenic herbs are herbs that support the adrenals and therefore help us to adapt to stress since the adrenals produce our anti-stress hormones.
The confusion comes from the fact that adaptogens are often also tonic herbs. Going back to the blood pressure issue as an example jiaogulan contains sterols that relax blood vessels dropping blood pressure. But it also supports the adrenals that help prevent low bloo ...

High blood pressure, commonly referred to as the “silent killer,” often has no symptoms and greatly increases risk for heart attack and stroke. The good news is that high blood pressure can be diagnosed very easily and controlled with lifestyle changes and medication, when necessary. The bad news, however, is that less than half of patients diagnosed with high blood pressure have their condition under control. Many patients with high blood p ...

Stimulation of the vagus nerve can drop blood pressure. If the blood pressure drops too much the heart rate will speed up to compensate for the declining blood flow from the drop in blood pressure. But this causes a fast but weak pulse, not a pounding pulse. This is why both pulse and blood pressure are checked together. Together they can give clues as to what is going on. It sounds like some of your dizziness/lightheaded might be due to very low blood pressure/electrolyte imbalance. Increase your sodium levels to get your blood pressure up. I often think that doctors prescribing blood pressure meds on the basis of a reading taken in their office, are doing the patient a great dis-service, and are possibly prescribing meds the patient does not need, and are possibly dangerous, if it is a situational problem, rather than a physical one.

Hypertension- High Blood pressure
When pressure exerted by blood on the walls of the arteries is greater than normal, blood pressure rises. Usually, blood pressure falls when at rest. It rises in response to strenuous physical activity, stress, or a perceived danger in which the sympathetic nervous system dominates, arteries constrict, and more blood is sent to the brain increase blood pressure. This heightened state of the sympathetic system does not seem to retreat in individuals with hypertension an damage to the heart, kidney, arteries, and other organs becomes inevitable.
