by nighty 15 y
Healing from Fibroids the natural way Uterine fibroids are also called uterine leiomyomas, fibroma, fibromyomas, leiomyomata and myomas. These are bening tumors that grow from the smooth muscle layer or the myometrium of the uterus (womb) and are the most common bening neoplasm in females.
About 25% in women have uterine fibroids and are the leading cause of the removal of the uterus or hysterectomy in the United States. But having fibroids will not increase the risk of developing a cancerous fibroid and almost never develop into cancer.

Re: Do small fibroids cause pain?
by gregmann9 9 y
Yes I think even small fibroids can cause pain, but it probably depends on their position in the uterus. If they project into the uterine cavity they can cause cramp like pain. Small fibroids are not likely to cause pain if they are pedunculated and outside the uterus. To read about fibroid pain in detail please see this article:

This is a long overdue article for American females. So many females are plagued with uterine fibroid tumors, older women as well as young teenage girls. Well, what are fibroids and how do they develop?
Fibroid tumors are benign growths that form on the interior muscular wall of the uterus. They also develop on the exterior of the uterus. I actually call fibroids what they really are trash bags. That’s right! The average American female’s body is so toxic (just like the average American male) and the major eliminative organs ( ...

How to Prevent and Eliminate Fibroids Naturally

As women near the onset of menopause, hormonal changes increase the likelihood of fibroid development. Lower amounts of progesterone and increased amounts of estrogen can cause fibroids, which can lead to a menstrual problems, anemia, dizziness and fatigue. A few changes in your diet and other healthy natural changes can help prevent the formation of fibroids and shrink and eliminate existing fibroids.
First of all, it would be a good idea to get a complete gynecological evaluation to rule out conditions that ma ...

( The Best Years in Life) Conventional medicine’s answer to fibroid tumors is very often a hysterectomy or other type of surgery and medications – none of which guarantees that fibroids will not return. Nature, on the other hand, can shrink or eliminate fibroid tumors by addressing their source cause and utilizing remedies which create an environment in which fibroids are no longer welcome.

Homeopathy is what made my fibroids literally ”vanish”. I got pregnant about 6 months after my treatment and so I mentioned to my OB/GYN that I had a previous history of fibroids and so he ordered an ultrasound. On my next appt, the Dr. left the room for something or other and had left my file open on the counter. I took a peek at my ultrasound and saw what the tech had scribbled in the margin: ”What about those ”mystery” fibroids?”. In reply to Neens: My chiropractor suggested natural progesterone when I told him I had intrauterine fibroids giving me discomfort. Sounds like cavernous liver hemangioma is a ”fibroid” of the liver. He also sited high estrogen levels associated with fibroids and told me that even if I had a UFE (uterine fibroid embolization) rather than hysterectomy to take this so that the fibroids would not return.
My new question however is: I’ve been taking Chasteberry (tradename: Vitex) which was recommended to me by ...

This thread was almost 2 years ago. If you have a fibroid of any sort, follow the advice in this thread. It is priceless. To encourage the fibroid to dissolve faster, take larger amounts of iodine when possible. The fibroid cyst in my breast took several months to dissolve using these techniques. A larger size would likely take a longer time, which is why you keep after it.

I have a few uterine fibroids that I had before my mirena was put in, the largest one being 4 cm. I have to say, that surprisingly, the mirena did not hurt ( or help) the fibroids. It ruined everything else for me, but not my fibroids. I was told that it usually helps shrink them, and helps if they bleed, but again, none of that happened to me, they are still the same after having the mirena in for 10 months.

Hi MamaCatPatch, there are doctors that call uterine fibroids, ’fibroid tumors’, these are not cancerous, but benign growths of fibroid tissue in the uterus. They can cause a lot of pain and heavy bleeding (this is what I had). They can sometime grow very large, and can cause infertility in many women.
I wonder if some doctors deliberatly use the word ’tumor’, to try and frighten women into having surgery. This is a cynical view, but when dealing with doctors, I’ve become a very cynical person.

Hi, I have been dealing with bleeding to the anemia every month for over two years now. In my ”extensive” research and efforts to solve the situation with my fibroids, this is where I am. The key thing that causes fibroids to grow (or cysts or endometriosis) is excessive estrogen (and not enough progesterone). So, for about a year, I have been taking a very low dose of bioidentical progesterone (25mgs/day) and using herbs to flush out excessive estrogen. (I have been taking 1 CDG EstroDIM but just switched to one estrosmart plus as they are much cheaper and have more good things in them. ...

I ended having a myomectomy (took out the grapefruit size fibroid and it’s buddies and left my uterus intact). Didn’t know about iodine at the time so had no other option as it was growing fast.
In the last year or so there’s been evidence that progesterone may actually be the culprit in uterine fibroid growth. I think prehaps deranged receptors set off teh growth and progesterone speeds it up.

I went to the doctor and she ordered a pelvis ultrasound to check my cervix, uterus and ovaries. They found three small fibroids in my uterus. After reseaching fibroids, I have concluded this maybe the source of the irregular bleeding since it is one of the symptoms of having fibroids. The OB-GYN will have to further investigate the three fibroids to see if they are true source of the bleeding. I’m just happy I have found the source of the problem and now I can look into natural alteratives if possible, starting with a serious liver cleanse.
Thanks for asking..

Thank you Hv! What about Chaste Berry? I know it has an effect on the hormones but I’m not sure how that is related to fibroids and bleeding and whether it would help that or not.
Vitex is usually recommended. But there is some evidence that progesterone also increases fibroid growth and therefore the use of vitex is controversial in the case of fibroids. And again, higher doses can increase estrogen, which can increase fibroid growth. This is why I left it off the list. Wild yam would be the safer alternative.
