Using Chinese herbs to assist in a flush
by sparkletoes 19 y

I’m using several Chinese herbs to assist in preparing for a liver/gallbladder flush (Gold Coin Grass and ”Chinese Bitters” aka Chinese Gentian & Bupleurum). Does anyone have experience using them? I’m a little fuzzy on the proper procedure. At this point I am thinking I’ll do the following (does it make sense?):
1) -Three weeks of Chinese Bitters (Chinese Gentian & Bupleurum) to decongest the liver.
2) -A few weeks of Gold Coin Grass to break up the stones.
(I would like to throw in an intestinal cleanse with p&b here to help prepare as well, but can I consume p&b at the same tim ...

Usage of GCG, Chinese Bitters and Coptis question

Hi,
Having now decided on purchasing 3 of the herbal liver tinctures, GCG, Chinese Bitters and Coptis from SensibleHealth.com, I would like to know the correct way in which to combine and use the 3 products.
I have learned after a few searches on these message boards that Chinese Bitters and Gold Coin Grass should not be used at the same time. I did see someone though who alternated every day, with Chinese Bitters one day, Gold Coin Grass the following, and repeating like that. Would that be a good option to take, or would every other day of Chinese Bitters and Gold Coin Grass lose t ...

Chinese Bitters or Chanca Piedra

Hi Andreas,
In The Amazing Liver Cleanse you discuss the use of Chinese Bitters; this forum has lots of discussion on the use of Chanca Piedra.
Which (in addition to 6 days of apple juice or malic acid) is best for breaking up or dissolving old, hard to remove, hardened stones, Chinese Bitters or Chanca Piedra? Or would it be safe and effective to use both Chinese Bitters and Chanca Piedra together for several weeks prior to flush ?
Thank you,

Hi,
I have ordered Gold Coin Grass and Chinese Bitters through the Chinese names:
Gold Coin Grass - Jin Qian Cao
Chinese Gentian - Long Dan Cao
Bupleurum - Chai Hu
I have noticed both Gold Coin Grass and Chinese Bitters formulas on SensibleHealth.com both have Bupleurum in.
So my question is, having ordered Gold Coin Grass, Chinese Gentian and Bupleurum, how many grams of each do I take per day to equal roughly the dosage of SensibleHealth.com formulas? From what I understand the herbs I have ordered come in 100g packages. So on SensibleHealth.com for example, it says 15ml of ...

Chinese Bitter Melon
Commonly used by Asians as part of their diet, the Chinese Bitter Melon (Momordica charantia) is used regularly to clean the blood. In addition to expressing antiviral and anti-tumor effects, the Chinese Bitter Melon exhibits Anti-HIV effects, inhibiting, in the laboratory, infected macrophages and T cells, as well as cell infection. It seems that the proteins in Chinese Bitter Melon (alpha- and beta-momocharin, and MAP-30) deactivate the ribosome function in HIV-infected cells, stop protein synthesis and kill cells that are infected. sorry if this is a bit long,
i’ve done 22 liver flushes, using the dr. clark protocol. from what i understand, chinese bitters is supposed to detoxify, stimulate bile flow, and decongest a packed liver. however my liver is hardly packed anymore, but i release about double to triple the amount of stones that i normally would without chinese bitters. it does seem to break some in pieces as well. on my 19th and 20th flushes i thought i was almost clean because i had less stones each time and they were tiny. then i decided to take chinese bitters for 4 days before my 21st flush, and i rele ...

I set appts for colonics before and after my flush which I planned
for July 7. I have to make those appts well ahead of time because
my colonic therapist is very busy.
I’ve been taking Gold Coin Grass in the mornings for the past 3 and a half weeks along with Coptis and Curcuma at night. Before the GCG

Here’s my dilemma. It appears that I don’t have enough GCG to make it until July 7. Seems I remember in one of your posts that it’s ok to take Chinese Bitters instead the last few days before the flush. Is that right?

The poster is refering to Julia Chang’s gold coin grass, available at:
http://www.sensiblehealth.com/ It’s highly recommended. I’m gonna try it!
It’s used to soften stones pre-flush. ”Sweetish” bitters is a mixture of herbs taken before meals to stimulate bile production, more of a digestive aid. :)

I just re-read Lakelight’s post and saw that she was, indeed, refering to Chinese bitters. The main ingredient in both the Sweetish Bitters and the Chinese bitters is gentian, an extremely bitter herb. It stimulates bile ...

I did buy the Chinese Bitters from Sensible Health but haven’t used it yet as I take my time adding different things. I make my own Jiaogulan and Nettle Tea (I have one of those cast iron pots that has the strainer) and drink about 3-4 cups of each per day.

Just out of curiousity, if I did take the Chinese Bitters would that be really hard on the liver?

I just received my herbs from sensible health. The directions say
to take Chinese Bitters for 3 weeks, starting with a half teaspoon

flushing the bile from the liver it can cause some toxic release and

If the discomfort is too much for you, cut back on it. Did you start

Malic Acid, Artichoke Tincture, Chinese Bitters, Gold Coin Grass and Chanca Piedra are great before fushing, but flushes work even without the apple juice procedure. I follow the apple juice fats a few times and that was fine as well, but lately I just go strainght for a flush and results are as good!
Artichoke and Chinese Bitters help the stagnant bile to move while the others help crunch and soften gallstones.

Chinese bitters says to take seperately from everything else, just wondering if anyone had problems using those 3 herbs together in the morning.

In my experience both tinctures have really worked. Another friend did the flush afterusing these medines and the results were fantastic as well.
Actually you will feel in your body the results as chinese bitters help move the stagnant bile while GCG helps to crush the gallstones.

Here is the information from the site that says Chinese Bitters should be started first if the liver is congested. This is similar, really, to your statement about taking CB between flushes. But for someone who hasn’t taken the herbs before, they would take the CB 1st to decongest the liver, then the GCG, then a few days of CB again.

Thanks, RG.
I read that Chinese bitters have a purging effect on the liver. If my liver is saturated with Humaworm after 30 days, will taking Chinese bitters clear out the Humaworm herbs, and thereby reduce the ”backwash” of the herbs on my body? I will be taking the in-between herbs, but still want to maximise the effect of Humaworm even after I’m done with the 30-day program.
Would it be better just to use the Gold Coin Grass for the 2 weeks following my Humaworm? Its purpose is to crush gallstones so perhaps not as purging as the Chinese bitters? Thanks.

Swedish bitters are very different from Chinese bitters. I don’t do well with Swedish bitters at ALL.
Swedish bitters are an aid to digestion, but not to the liver entirely. Here are the ingredients in the most popular kind of swedish bitters:
Aloe, Manna, Senna, Rhubarb Root, Zedoary Root, Theriac Venetian, Angelica Root, Carline Thistle Root, Myrrh, Camphor, Saffron in an Alcohol and Water Base
All of these herbs are in the bitter/astringent/Sour type, which increase YIN and react mainly to the circulatory system. Aloe, for instance, encourages blood vessels to contract, which ...

I don’t recall what is in the Chinese Bitters. But any bitter tasting herb will work. The main difference is that Swedish bitters also contain stimulant laxatives that I prefer to avoid. Grape Bitters have berberine herbs (goldenseal, Oregon grape root, barberry) that I don’t like either. But they are still the safest out of the two.
