There are many Artemisia sp...

The Drug "Artemisinin" is extracted from the Artemis annua - Asteraceae. Also known as Sweet Annie. I think Zooii is confused with A. absinthium. There are several species of Artmisia known as Chinese Wormwood as well.
Sweet Annie has naturalized virtually around the world. It is known as Spice Bush and Sweet Wormwood in the Richters.com herbal seed Source Catalog.

Artemisinin is collected from the Glandular Trichomes of the plant's flowers - thus varieties that are grown in a hotter more arid climate will have higher concentrations of the chemical. There ia new process that collects also the Arteminic Acid and can be converted to Artemisinin to even get higher concentration.
There are also hybrids with higher concentrations.

Research has shown that chemicals in the roots help with the bioavailability and synthesis of Artemisinin.
