The way I understand the above excerpt, the iodine mixture was injected into another type of tumor, whereas a lipoma was considered a fair target for surgical removal.

I have come across several sites that have suggested food allergies and/or gluten intolerance as possible causes of lipomas. One blogger claimed that avoiding gluten made his lipomas disappear. I don't have that link any more, but you should be able to find it by googling that specific question. Tweet
