menstrual cycle acting weird

Hi Dr. mom - I loved your show on Patrick Timpone. You have really inspired me in lots of ways. thanks

Question: I have always been very regular as far as menstrual cycle. I am 45. Well just this past cycle, I had a regular 4-5 day period and it stopped like normal. But 3 days later, I started spotting (bright red, fresh blood mostly), then got some darker older blood, then after a couple weeks I am STILL bleeding and it got heavier and is bright red again. Some weird clots throughout, and now I am still going after 2 1/2 weeks (not including the first regular period bleeding). Any ideas? I am really healthy other than tired from a stressful job, but I eat a lot of live, raw food and don't do too much in the way of dairy and no meat at all. Mostly cut out all refined sugar, etc. etc. One thing that coincided exactly with the extra bleeding is I started taking 2 tsp. of raw apple cider vinegar with a tsp of raw honey every morning. Not sure if this could be encouraging a cleanse in that way or not... I guess it could be pre-menopausal as I am 45 but I don't feel like it. I am very young feeling and looking so it doesn't seem like it. No other symptoms of that. ANy ideas? I am a little worried that the bleeding hasn't stopped.I tried raspberry tea 3 times a day for 5 days I think and then I ran out and wasn't sure if it was the right thing. thanks very much for reading this and any help you can offer.
