I2:KI - What ratio is appropriate?

I finally got to the FAQ (It was stuck the last few times I tried). It answers a lot questions...

Now, back to I2 vs KI. I'm totally confused...

You said, "the body needs both Iodine(I2) and iodide(KI)"

Lugol (or Iodoral)'s I2:KI ratio is 5:7.5mg. IYO, what is the right ratio?

You also mention that "iodine is THE mineral that convinced me to supplement beyond diet".

Since SSKI is 100% KI (no I2 at all), then where do you get your I2 from?
