Re: lodoral and clear iodine?

iodoral is not meant to be absorbed in the stomach and neither is lugols. Minerals are foods and they are meant to be absorbed in the intestines like food. That's why they are better taken with food. All of the Iodine md's say they can both be taken with anything.

Iodine has been shown to go thru the intestines and into the system without being reduced to iodide. I suspect that even taking Lugols with vitamin c makes no difference, since it gets converted right back to Iodine by the hcl in the stomach. I'm no chemist, but my guess is that Lugols is a stable compound, and that's why it was formulated for this purpose. Even when it's reduced to Iodide , it may still retain the original characteristics of its compound and thereby more easily oxidize back to Iodine than would happen by taking SSKI alone. However, I have read that SSKI turns dark as it oxidizes upon exposure to air, so I wish I understood the chemistry, but I don't. And I haven't seen any decent explanations on this site to answer the query.
