Please help! I have a Mirena insertion apt. tomorrow!

Hello Everyone,

I have an appointment to have the Mirena inserted tomorrow morning and I am having major anxiety about it. I have tried practically every form of oral birth control on the market as well as the nuva ring. Everything makes me break out in a terrible rash, makes me terribly sick to the point that I am vomiting almost every day, gives me migraines, makes my libido go extinct and it goes on and on. I have never had any children. My doctor suggested that I have the mirena inserted as an alternative to oral BC. What I don't understand is if I get so sick from regular birth control, won't I get sick from this? I have also taken only progesterin (spelled wrong I'm sure)as well and that made me terribly sick. I have terrible menstrual cramps every month and was hoping that the mirena would ease the symptoms, but I am thinking that there are too many other side effects to make it worth it. My doctor has dismissed my concerns for cramping and pain after insertion. She said that I should only cramp for a few days. After reading so much on this site, I feel like she was not telling me the truth. Especially since I have not had any children. I want to cancel my appointment, but I need to know more from others that can advise me. Maybe I will be one of the lucky ones that has a great insertion and not many side effects. But given my tract record with hormones, I don't want to waste the next 6 months of my life being in pain. I have a low tolerance for pain and I am freaking out! Please help me!!! I am so confused and I don't know if I should get this inserted tomorrow!!!
