Re: That's still the complete opposite of what Scripture says.
but i dont know other religions. i dont read other books. i study the bible, both old and new. i live the best i can according to what i learn in there. by doing so, i can see that what god requires from man can be accomplished by any man in any setting on earth. i would also take example from paul. this is a perfect sermon. notice what it says, and what it does not.
acts 17
22Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
23For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
24God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
25Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
26And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
27That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
28For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
29Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
30And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
31Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
if paul were posting on curezone today, would he also be asked to go to the enlightened forum? i am not a gnostic or a new ager. i dont channel anyone or listen to channelers. i dont do the rama-lama ding-dong gig. i love the bible and find it contains the greatest collection of truth on the planet. i was raised in an assembly of god church and baptised in a baptist church. that is my culture. that is my heritage. that is where i belong. i know the meaning of most of the bible by heart. i have been led by god since i turned over my learning to him at age 19. i have 30 years put into this journey. and you are going to tell me i dont belong? or that i dont know what i am talking about? is your god and my god different?
my problem, both here and elsewhere, is that i reach a point where i have enough experience with something that i can easily tell who those people who dont have that kind of experience are. and they know i know. i am not the one who is uncomfortable among different points of view, nor in being in the minority. i do not seek contention, only conversation and learning.
is there something here i am not seeing?
