Blog: Attempted Fruitarian (let's see if I can do it!)

annnnd...day 2

Slowly, surely, and it could definitely be worse! Kind of proud of myself for sticking with it for even just 2 days so far.

Day 2 of fruitarian. Not quite on-track and feeling great yet. I had TWO coffees today. So that's gonna have to stop. I was so hungry and the coffee curbs that so well. I woke up late and had to get some reading done for class, so didn't feel like washing and cutting any fruit. So I ate handfuls of raisins. Then on my way to the library after class, I was really really hungry. I was tempted to break my thingy here and go for some deep fried cauliflower at a nearby seafood restaurant that has the BEST side dishes (since I obviously don't eat the fish), but abstained from it all. So I've not had anything BAD like I was used to eating (except the coffee), but today's menu has been raisins, a banana, and two pickles. The pickles I suppose aren't really part of a typical fruitarian deal, but again. I was hungry and didn't feel like cutting an apple and stuff. Besides, I wanted something un-fruity. So I had two big dill pickles.
Could be better, could be A LOT worse.
At least I'm not overeating.
Tomorrow I'm gonna keep it to one coffee. By the weekend I hope to be off that routine altogether.
I did go for a walk tonight too, so that made me feel good.
Oh yeah, and I USED to smoke, way back when. Haven't for about 5 years. But lately I'd been picking it back up, just incidentally. I was fairly sporadic about it, but in the past two months or so, had gone through 3 or 4 packs of cigarettes. Not a good habit to get back into. But I haven't had a ciggie in oh, about 4 or 5 days now. I vaguely feel like I want one here and there, but then I don't act on the urge and it kind of goes away. Glad I nipped it before it got out of hand.
Alright.
Tomorrow I need to get to the strawberries.
I've read that you shouldn't really mix fruits, and I know melons block nutrient absorption for other foods, so my method here is one fruit at a time, with about an hour between fruits, if necessary. Though the variety hasn't been an issue yet. So I'm sticking with that theory, better safe than sorry.
Tomorrow I gotta get the strawberries eaten, before they go bad.
The way my appetite's been, hopefully they'll be most of my day's menu.
