Birds, Bees, Man, Child, Woman

Surrender, Appreciation and Pure Love~ All were embodied in my Life today!

As I left off yesterday or the day before-the Port District has a yen for my bee hive-Mind you, it was not 'my' beehive ,until upon his asking I stupidly showed the "gardener" from the Port District where it was located. He came back with a supervisor to determine the action needed to indemnify the Port District of risk and consequences of law abiding bees.

The Port District truck arrived at about 1pm, I saw the ever present yellow "beanie" light on top of the truck hood-but they seemed to have forgotten what they came for-they emptied the trash, and left 2 piles of clippings from the overgrown trail and the bee hive -unmolested. Had they forgotten what they'd come for? I hope so, the only time I will ever appreciate inefficiency!

Today, at the "spot", I laid in the sun-more than I swam-For some delightful reason I was feeling opened and sensuous laying in the heat with the breeze caressing my hot skin. I felt an opening, a delicious relaxation. A low undulation of respiration, pleasure, heart beat and blood pumping through my veins. Pure Love.

Finally, I decided that I was becoming a crisp, and might actually need to get in the water to cool off! I walked along the waters edge, knee deep in the water...there was a beautiful little boy playing alone -perfectly happy, at the water's edge. I asked "How's the water" ~ never expecting a reply...He was around 2, he began to "pat" the surface of the water, until it gave off a little splash.

Then he 'stinkbugged' up ~ diapered hiney in the air, bobbing his head in and out of the water, up and down, like one of those glass birds bobbing on the cup of water. He was getting his head wet, then he did a "downdog" (yoga asana), and stuck his whole crown in the sand and water-by now I was laughing with pure fascination and joy~ He half righted himself~then stuck his wide open mouth in the water and exhaled until the water "boiled"...His Mom said "he is blowing bubbles" from her perch on the beach. I asked "Is he in swim class?" "No", she answered. "We've been thinking about it, but it is 100 dollars a month"- I suggested "Try the Y- a six week course should be half that- He is a natural"- that little boy was a natural water baby! What sweetness, and contentment. I envied her with her water baby!

I waded back to the beach by my towel, and in full surrender to the physical pleasure of the warmth of the sun I collapsed back on the towel. Finally I knew I was burnt, and needed to go into the water. I sat up and looked out on the water, the breeze was skittering on the water, teasing dark blue crop circles out of the cold surface of the water. I closed my eyes, I heard the cacophony of the different bird dialects. The breeze caressed my skin-I looked out to the buoys-lo and behold there was a lone swimmer~ a man with a full head of white hair stroking from Bouy 1 to Buoy 2. I stood up and grabbed my fins- If he can do it, so can I!

Preparing for the shock of cold water on my hot skin, I waded to the top of my legs then gently lowered myself and pushed off the sandy bottom. Ye Gads, extreme contrast burnt skin and the cold blue crop circles encircled ME. I put my fins on and back stroked out to Bouy 1, I began to feel playful, joyful I did a dive and somersaulted around up to the surface- so at peace and full. I smiled and laughed to myself. I am happy, complete, and full of love.

I began to kick my legs hard, the fins caught the water I could feel the strength of my legs demanding and pushing on the water- I started to gain on the lone swimmer in front of me, I was laughing between breaths now...The next time I looked up the man had stopped at the 3rd buoy, and I was definitely gaining on him-he was watching me. When I got within ear shot, I projected a greeting-"Hello" as water splashed up my nostrils, he answered "I just wanted to see who else was as crazy as me to be out here" I laughed.

I said "I've seen you out here before." He was obviously surprised. I did a graceful half turn onto my side, while I stroked into him. He said" I'm surprised how warm the water is" "Yes, it's nice -last month it was 58 degrees", he asked "did you go in?" "Yes", I replied. He shook his head and said "You are braver then me" "No, just better equipped-womens bodies have more insulation!"

I asked him "have you seen the seal ?" He said he had and that he routinely saw him near his boat docked on the seaward dock. "Oh, which one is your boat?" I queried, "The one with the stern sticking out" (said straight faced with a texas or arkansas accent), This tickled me and I laughed hard, and said-"I see a lot of boats with their sterns poking out" (all the seaward docked boats-15 or so) He laughed at my observation, and pointed to a black mast-"The one with the black mast-1/2 down the seaward dock."

A beautiful, sleek sloop, I congratulated him on his good taste and eye for beauty. He beamed at me. I shared my theory that one of his dockmates or the chef at the yacht club was feeding the seal. He considered this piece of the obvious and -as only men from the south can- finally nodded and agreed; "probably".

I did a kick flip turn off the buoy and started back to my beach and he called out-my name is Dick Bemus, and I said I'm ____ ____, it was a pleasure to meet you!" And off we swam in our opposite directions. I'll see you again.....

In several more minutes with a back stroke, a breast stroke, a frog kick and plain spread out, ~ floating on my back ~carried by the current of the sea, hearing my heart beat, my respiration, the blood pounding in my veins; I am pleasurably content with the fact I am alive and feeling pure love. I swim into shore and haul out and drop to my towel. From my supine position I check my bees -they are unmolested. Peacefully going about their bee business.

I lay on the towel cold and wet, feeling the sun beating on my back and the relaxation of my muscles, my breathing slowing once again, and I think of this morning and the pleasure at the sound of live guitar music ~how much I appreciated the sound of live music floating from across the hall.

I am full of appreciation, and wonder, I am lit up and anchored in the greatest of all pleasures-Pure Love of Life. I have battled and survived, and now I am ready to move forward into "the bigness" the passion that is my life. I can taste the air I breathe. I am alive and wonderfully content with all that is and that is not. I am perfect.

And so it is!
