If you are looking for information on cat urine problems then you have come to the right place. I have had a cat that has had urine problems and a lot of the time it has something to do with the cats environment or that it has not been trained to its highest level yet. Here are some of my tops tips for cat urine problems.
Has the environment changed? - Quite often you will find that a change of house will unsettle the cat and it may start urinating unexpectedly in random places or acting nervous around you. Maybe a companion cat had died or the furniture around where it sleeps has been moved a lot? These can all alter a cats urine and cause problems.
Has someone been scaring the cat? - I know this sounds a little silly but when a human tries to scare a cat, the cat will see that human as a predator and run from it. This makes the cat nervous around other humans and when nervous they may urinate in the wrong place or their urination patterns might be wrong.
Where does it urinate? - If the cat has started to urinate on something recently ask yourself what has changed recently that has caused this to happen. Maybe you have a new piece of furniture and the cat finds the smell alluring and so it marking its scent on it. I hear this happens pretty often with new leather sofas. Something that you can do here then it so get some cat repellent smells. Most cats hate the smell of apple so maybe a little apple juice in a spot for a week will tell you if this is in fact the problem.
New Cat on the block? - Often when there is a new cat on the block or in the house then the cat may feel threatened and nervous in its own home which can cause severe stress for the animal. Try and ask around and look out at night to see if there are any new cats around.
I bet you're searching the internet looking for the best methods to train your cat for free and I totally understand that. I was in your position and all the information seemed too much and information conflicted and it was pretty annoying at the time.
