Healing MCS Part 2
This is part two of the saga of my latest healing adventure. Yesterday I went for an evaluation with a new healer for my MCS and other chronic challenges...

I arrived at my new healer's office on the dot yesterday, and had to wait 1/2 hour for him to see me. I found out why he was late: before you are seen for your evaluation, the clinician has you fill out a 6 page form giving all of your medical history. Well, my history was so packed with information that it took the clinician 1/2 hour to read it! This was impressive in and of itself, as I've found that many a health care provider has you fill out these dang forms and then they are filed away, never to be read.
The clinic is comprised of a group of healers who are skilled in Applied Kinesiology, Chinese Medicine, nutritional supplementation, biomagnetics, homeopathy, Neuro-Emotional techniques, chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage therapy. What attracted me to this particular clinic is that all of these techniques are utilized in one place, instead of my having to run around to different practitioners who have one particular thing that they do. The chiropractor that I saw is the head of the clinic and he is skilled in all these techniques except acupuncture and massage therapy; if he feels you need this he just sends you to a different room in his own office for a treatment with another practitioner!
I found out during my evaluation that the chiropractor knows the long-term chiropractor/energy worker I've been seeing for over 20 years, and said "He's a good guy". How many times do you hear from a practitioner praise for another practitioner? He has no problems with my working simultaneously with my shamanic practitioner, and, although he doesn't advertise it with his clients unless they're open to it, he often works with his clients on "past-life" issues, he's extremely intuitive, and he does energy work as well.
"Neuro-Emotional Techniques" (NET’s) are utilized to treat Neuro-Emotional Complexes (NEC’s). Here's a great explanation of an NEC from an office brochure: "An NEC (neuro-emotional complex) is a mind/body pattern in which a dysfunction or disharmony of a specific body process or part is linked with an emotion. NEC's are stimulated when the specific emotion is stimulated. We get NEC's from having major emotional events happen in our life at a time when our body is functioning at less than 100%. After that, whenever the emotion is stimulated, so is the body dysfunction. NEC's can be sourced in our work, relationships, childhood, etc. (Liora's note: as to the "etc."--this could also include "past lives") and may sabotage our efforts to achieve and maintain a healthy, functioning body. With the technology that is available today in Applied Kinesiiology and Neuro-emotional techniques, NEC's can be cleared out in a matter of minutes, enabling you to have breakthroughs in your health and well-being at levels never even imagined." Sounds right up my alley!
Why the big focus on NEC's when all these years I've been struggling with MCS and all the other physical stuff?
Well, the results of my evaluation were as follows: on a scale of 0 to 100, when 0 means you're dead and 100 is optimally healthy (the chiro said he's never seen anyone with a score of 100 unless they're a yogic master), a score of 80 is healthy and a 90 means you are so healthy you could easily handle severe stressors and bounce right back. The average score for the client first coming into the clinic is 45.
My score is, get this, a BIG WHOPPING 17! Seventeen, that's right. I guessed a 20. Not so good, eh? Somehow, it always shocks me when I find stuff out like that--I've read reports on my health by clinicians and I can never associate myself with the sick person that those reports portray. I mean, I know I have problems, but in my mind they never seem as severe as tests seem to show--maybe it's because I have a strong will and make myself do things that by all rights I shouldn't be able to do--like get out of bed in the morning!
The underlying causes of my ill health? 5% nutritional deficiencies, 5% structural/physiological problems, and...drum roll, please, 90% EMOTIONAL!!
The results of the evaluation were a surprise to me and bore out what my long-term chiro and shamanic practitioner have been telling me: that the underlying basis for my various and sundry illnesses is emotional, not physiological. (The tests this chiro did don't include a "spiritual" component but as I wrote in Part I, spiritual and emotional issues are very linked for me.)
Ah, this is where the Neuro-emotional techniques come in!
