Power of Kindness   18 y
Just like that baby, when loving human contact is missing, we each, in our own way, make our plaintive cries in the darkness of our loneliness.

”A woman I know, let’s call her Dorothea, tells me another story. Every evening she hears her neighbors’ baby girl crying in the apartment next to hers. The parents put the child to sleep alone in the dark. The baby cries for a long time while the parents watch television. The baby’s desperate crying expresses all her anguish, her solitude. What should Dorothea do? She is uncertain. Speaking to the parents might makes things worse. She decides to sing. Just as she can hear the baby, the baby can hear her. Every evening when they put the baby to bed, Dorothea sings her sweet lulla ...   read more

Gems of Wisdom   18 y
When you need a pick-me-up...or just something to meditate on

Never Stop Learning by Andy Rooney I’ve learned... that the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person. I’ve learned... that when you’re in love, it shows. I’ve learned... that just one person saying to me, ”You’ve made my day!” makes my day I’ve learned... that I feel better about myself when I make others feel better about themselves. I’ve learned... that having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world. I’ve learned... that what we have done for ourselves alone dies with us. What we have done for ot ...   read more

Grief-Loss   18 y
Grieving and healing the loss

by Ellen A Mogensen When we grieve for another, what we are really mourning is the loss of them from our lives. Part of life on Earth is losing those we love along the way. Time will take the sharp edge off the pain but it is not guaranteed to release our need to grieve. If you are finding it hard to let go of your grief, one of three things is likely standing in the way of you releasing it... so that you can move past the pain and into the beauty of love. * Completeness: Mourning is most often prolonged because we lack the feeling of being complete with our loved one. What We Learn   18 y
Heartwarming quotations about what people of different ages learn

Author Unknown I’ve learned that I like my teacher because she cries when we sing ”Silent Night”.....*Age 6 I’ve learned that our dog doesn’t want to eat my broccoli either. *Age 7 I’ve learned that when I wave to people in the country, they stop what they are doing and wave back. *Age 10 I’ve learned that just when I get my room the way I like it, Mom makes me clean it up again. *Age 12 I’ve learned that if you want to cheer yourself up, you should try cheering someone else up. *Age 14 I’ve learned that although it’s hard to admit it, I’m secretly glad my parents ...   read more

Enthusiasm!   18 y
Do you need a little more enthusiasm in your life?

by Eileen McDargh It started at the rental car turn-in location. My friend is a ”platinum” with Hertz, a great benefit I discovered when the rental agencies are a considerable distance from the terminal. Our driver grinned as she slide into the driver’s seat and said she could hardly wait for school to begin. Turns out she’s a school bus driver and with her seniority, she gets to pick her route. Her passion: autistic children. ”I just love ’em,” she grinned. ”I get them again this year.” Fascinating. Sincere. And difficult. We stopped to grab a bite of lunch before a lo ...   read more

Connect with Source   18 y
We each have our own personal portal to the security, love, money and health we desire.

by Keith Varnum http://www.ideamarketers.com/demo/article4.cfm?editorid=4705&issueid=2024&art... Daily stress getting to you? Want more peace and joy in your life? With terrorism, layoffs and pollution, can you feel safe and happy? Yes, you can—by tapping into Divine Source. During many years of observing others and myself searching for fulfillment, I’ve noticed an essential ingredient is often missing. I call this ingredient Direct Connection with Source, or God. Without this quality in its authentic form, no folks I know have been able to achieve the contentment they’re seeking. ...   read more

Existence   18 y
What is the purpose of our existence?

Question: ”Why am I here?” - Answer: ”To learn how to be and become love.” At some point in our journey as Soul, we ask ourselves ”why am I here?” The answers to both questions are one in the same. ”You are here to grow in your ability to love.” What we learn through our wanderings in the universe is simply this. Life is a choice: learn to choose love in every moment. This is far easier said than done. Think about what it means to choose love in every moment. It means ”don’t cut that car off in traffic”, ”don’t scream at your kids when you’ve had a rotten day”, ”don’t gossip ab ...   read more

Einstein's Spirituality   18 y
A quotation from Albert Einstein's letters

”A human being is a part of a whole, called by us ’universe’, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”   visit the page

For singles   18 y
For everyone looking for their soulmate, looking to find their true love, and also for those already married. Long but easy to read.

http://www.warmwisdompress.com/dating/gtr/green1.aspx From Rabbi Green’s presentation The issues here are actually pretty simple and they’re fundamental. If you turn on the radio and you listen, you’ll always find the same subject again and again. 99.9% of all the songs in the whole world are about one thing. They’re about love. And the reason is because every single creature in the world is looking for it. It’s a feeling. You can run away, you can try and escape, you can use other language. But those are the facts. When was the last time you heard a song about a duck on the radio, or ...   read more

Dance   18 y
I love dancing--latin (salsa, merengue) and ballroom (waltz, tango). It is the best and easiest way to express my true Self. It never fails to bring my innermost being to the light--it is as if all the chains of the world fall off. And sharing this self expression with the person I am dancing with makes it a divine experience.

http://www.crystalinks.com/dance.html Creation is linked to Dance - the movement of the Soul - as it blends sound, light, and color in rhythmic patters of geometry that opens our souls and allow us to flow into other places where we are the creators. Dancing as a way of releasing, healing and connecting with each other and our divine source dates back tens of thousands of years, and can be found in thousands of cultures the world over. We are energy beings. Our feelings and emotions are energy, and as energy they are meant to move. Dance is a perfect way to vibrate and move this e ...   read more

Humans Need Touch   18 y
I am posting this article at 2 a.m. after coming back from a night of *wonderful* salsa dancing and realizing just how great my body feels after all that human touch and close dancing! Go learn the salsa and merengue people :)

Aside from being your gateway to touch and a great place to hang your clothes, your skin is also your largest organ. No one is exempt from needing to be touched. Humans need to touch and be touched, just like we need food and water. The connection between touch and well being is far more than skin deep. From the moment of birth our tactile sense is being stimulated. Pushed out, picked up, and slapped on the bottom, we are placed at our mother’s breast, and a bonding process begins. The need for bonding, or close physical contact with another human being, remains with us throughout o ...   read more

The Universal Laws   18 y
The Universal Laws as described by Abraham (from the Abraham-Hicks materials at http://www.abraham-teachings.com)

You are a Physical Extension of that which is Non-physical. All-That-Is, or God, is not finished and waiting for you to catch up. You are the leading edge of thought, here seeking more: more of all that feels good to you, more of that which is fresh and gloriously uplifting. (You are, in essence, bringing heaven to earth.) You are here in this body because you chose to be here. You wanted the opportunity to experience this delicious contrast in time and space, and with great anticipation you came to co-create with other joy-seeking beings, to fine-tune the process of deliberate thought. ...   read more

More Abraham   18 y
Abraham on Vibration, Emotions, and Creation

The Universe does not know if the vibration you are offering is because of what you are imagining, or because of what you are observing. In either case, it is responding. Emotion is your guidance or your response to your vibration. Your emotion does not create. Emotion is your indicator of what you are already creating. As you think, you vibrate. And it is your vibrational offering that equals your point of attraction. So, what you are thinking and what is coming back to you is always a vibrational match. The emotion (your Guidance System) is telling you what’s coming. http://www.abrah ...   read more

Flower essences are a gentle way of emotional healing

by Stefan Ball, Author & Consultant at the Dr. Edward Bach Centre A great many people have heard of Rescue Remedy, which is used by all sorts of people to cope with crises and everyday emergencies: Princess Anne and Elizabeth Hurley are two of its better-known users. But how many know about the 38 individual flower remedies that are part of the same system of medicine, a system unusual in that it is aimed at treating the emotions rather than their physical manifestations? Dr. Edward Bach, MB, BS, MRCS, LRCP, DPH, was a well-known bacteriologist, pathologist and homeopath whose career ...   read more

Words of wisdom

You will come back lifetime after lifetime—not because there are some rungs on a ladder that you must climb (not because there is some hierarchy that you are hoping to achieve; not because you are wanting to achieve some sort of perfection and then never come back again) but for the joy of it! You are creators who love creating! And there is no place anywhere, any time, that is more delicious than this time/space reality in which you are focused. The contrast is so prevalent; the variety is so amazing. Your ability to focus has never been better. And now, you are remembering who-you-are an ...   read more

Next time you want to fix someone’s problems, try listening instead

Kim Ridley This article appeared in Ode issue: 35 http://www.odemagazine.com/article.php?aID=4333 On a summer day, longtime youth worker John Bell was walking down the street when he saw a boy fall off his bicycle and skin his knee. The boy grimaced in pain as he clutched his knee, but he didn’t make a sound. Bell knelt down, pointed to the boy’s knee and said, “That must hurt!” The boy screamed, “Yes, it really hurts!” and burst into tears. Bell sat next to the boy as he continued to sob. Eventually, the boy began pointing to scars on his body and telling how he got them. “It was ...   read more

"The Paradoxical Commandments"   18 y
Written by Lucius Annaeus Seneca (Roman philosopher)

”People are illogical, unreasonable, and self centered... Love them anyway. If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives... Do good anyway. If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies... Succeed anyway. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow... Do good anyway. Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable... Be honest and frank anyway. Those with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest minds... Think big anyway. People favor underdogs but only follow top dogs... Fight for the underdogs anyway.
