Actually, bits and pieces of understanding have been floating around in my head for a long time, seemingly fragmented, and I had one of those "ah, ha!" moments while reading your blog!

The phrase "we are our own ancestors" came from something Deena Metzger once said at a Dare'. My memory is poor, but it had something to do with her telling us that when we dream or vision, the ancestors are speaking to us, and that we are incorporating what they tell us into our own souls, so when we share the insights with others, we are ourselves the ancestors, as they are speaking through us.

While I believe that Deena meant it metaphorically, I think it is quite literally true. Case in point: I was working with a healer who did a soul retrieval for me. She "traveled" to the "Other side of the Veil" to retrieve fragments of my soul that had "split off" due to trauma. She asked my Spirit Guides if they could assist her in bringing the soul-fragments back across the "Veil", and to help her incorporate them back into me. She told me that one of the Guides helping her was a Native American elder; she didn't know if he was a medicine man or a tribal leader.

Months later my Spirit Guides told me that one of my "past lives" was as a Lakota medicine man, and that he was the Spirit Guide that had helped the healer with my soul retrieval! AAAK! mind boggling! So, if we were to write this up in hypothetical terms, it might go like this:

If I was a Lakota medicine man in my past life, then at some point during that "life" I/he left the body (i.e. experienced biological death) and returned, in some kind of spiritual etheric form, to the "other side of the Veil" i.e bodiless dimension.

If I was in a spiritual etheric form, then at some point in "time" I/he decided to go back into a new body i.e. reincarnate.

At some point in "time", after who-knows-how-many earthplane lifetimes, I/he incarnated as "Liora Leah".

The Lakota medicine man, then, although not a "biological ancestor", could certainly be called a "spiritual ancestor", and since he is me, i.e. we are the same spiritual etheric being, then I am my own ancestor!

And, add this to the mix: if all the above is true, and I am the reincarnated Lakota medicine man, how did he get to be one of my Spirit Guides?!?

Ah, this is where multi-dimensionality comes in. My Spirit Guides have told me that we are existing in more than one place at the same "time". We are incarnated Spirit beings on the earthplane; at the same time, we may be incarnated in other bodies in other dimensions; some parts of us may be without biological bodies and be "Spirit Guides" to other human beings; some other parts of us could be out creating new worlds and stars in some other dimension(s), etc, ad infinitum! Given this, it is perfectly plausible to presume that a part of us could also be our own Spirit Guide(s)! And, to top it all off, there is no past and no future, only the NOW, so everything we are BEing and everything we are Doing is happening all at once!

So, given the nature of "time" and of "multi-dimensionality", new hypotheses emerge: if one of my Spirit Guides is the Lakota medicine man, then there is no question that not only am I my own ancestor, but I am also my own Spirit Guide! This certainly accounts for my Spirit Guides telling me that "We are You are Us are One!"

And, if there is no such thing as "time", then there is no such thing as a "past life" and there are no such things as "ancestors" because the word implies the spirit of a being who lived in the "past". Therefore, there is only a NOW life and there are only "NOWcestors". Therefore, I AM my own NOWcestors and I AM my own SPIRIT GUIDES and THERE IS NO SEPARATION BETWEEN ME AND my NOWcestors and my Spirit GUIDES, for WE ARE YOU ARE US ARE ONE IN THE NOW TIME!

AACCK!....ARRGH...sorry, Gregg, I think some brain cells just went flying off somewhere out into the ethers...!
