Dear forum, Greetings. I am writing from Africa Youth Ministries Uganda, a child and youth focused Ngo working with war traumatised Children & Youth in the 19 years war torn Northern Uganda. The 19 years war in Northern Uganda, has left over 1.6 million innocent Ugandans homeless but only living in displaced peoples protected camps, thousands of people have innocently been killed, over 25,000 children abducted and thousands an accounted for, hundreds of innocent women & men young and old maimed etc. The war trauma has affected every human being, we have an entire generation born and lived and still living in war camps, a generation of Night commuter children running from their homes every evening to search for safe shelter in towns to avoid rebel abductions, all they have known their entire lives is war. The level of violence among children is very high both amongst their age groups, in schools and in their communities. Many of these children have faced sexua| violence and abuse, domestic violence as a result of the 19 years Northern Uganda Conflict. In this regard, Africa Youth Ministries is writing to request for your support in designing better result oriented trauma healing programs targeting the Children & Youth affected by the 19 years Civil conflict. Further, we would also request for your material support e.g. books, videos, pamphlets, leaflets with information on Trauma healing.
