You have heard about hypothermia, as in Her Majesty Floating Forces, we were taught that five (5)mins. in the ( 39 degree F average ) North Atlantic was all you would stand, if you fell over board... Everything just shuts down with the blood moving back into the core of the body to try and maintain basic functions...
