Without knowing it, I was eating about 40-50% raw. I did some research and decided to up the percentage and just make better choices. I am not doing it for weight loss. I am healthy and I want to maintain my good spirits. OK...here is my best advice to start raw:
1/ There are several resources I have found. Google David Wolfe. He seems to be one of the foremost raw guru's. He has a lot of helpful advice. Go to youtube and type in search "Arnold's way" (you can find a lot of David Wolfe on youtube as well). Arnold is a raw foodist and has a ton of videos about eating raw.
2/ Purchase a good blender if you don't have one. Make as many green smoothies a day as desired. I do 2 a day. A common recipe. Water, ice, banana, another fruit (apple, pear etc etc), leafy greens (can be spinach, kale, romaine lettuce, collard greens, chard, parsley etc- I always pick 2)...blend it well. The trick is the banana will cover up the taste of the greens, so use 2 banana's if need. These taste great and easy way of getting huge amounts fruits and vegetables in your diet. Plus being all blended makes it easy for your body to digest and assimilate the nutrients. Buy organic where you can.
3/ Don't beat yourself up if you eat occasional cooked food. I went to a superbowl party.....I had a beer, half a steak sandwich...so what, it's cool. By the way, wine is considered a raw food. So when the wine was opened, I switched.
4/ Educate yourself...Curezone has ton of info....of course I profess we all have all teh knowledge we need, it is the discipline that is lacking. So just like your fast, make it happen.
.
Anyone that can fast for 26 days is a hall of famer!
